Gerry Turner embarks on his 'Golden Bachelor' hometown dates, delving into uncharted waters Discover his aspirations and desires for these pivotal encounters in this exclusive Us Weekly sneak peek

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner places significant value on hometown dates. In a confessional for We's exclusive preview of The Golden Bachelor's episode on Thursday, November 2, the 72-year-old Gerry reveals, "It's been since 1968 that I last had the chance to meet someone's family before falling in love. I'm genuinely thrilled about this opportunity, as family holds great significance in my life."

Gerry hinted that his hometown dates on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will have a unique twist compared to previous seasons. Instead of meeting the parents, he will meet the children. The clip depicts him at an airport, ready to embark on his first hometown date, where he expresses the significance of this week in his quest to discover love anew.

I have three remaining women: Faith, Leslie, and Theresa, and each of them has expressed that they are falling in love with me," he goes on. "However, it has been a significant amount of time since I last experienced these feelings with my wife, so I find myself in unfamiliar territory."

While Gerry acknowledges his strong emotions for the final three women, he emphasizes, "I only want to declare my love to one more person for the rest of my life. Therefore, I hope I can navigate my emotions and make the correct decision."

In a departure from the usual Bachelor Nation format, Gerry will be visiting three contestants instead of his final four for the hometown dates. During the show's fifth episode on October 26, Gerry handed out hometown roses to Faith Martin, Leslie Fhima, and Theresa Nist. As a result, Ellen Goltzer, Sandra Mason, and Susan Noles were eliminated from the competition.

"I am aware of the immense responsibility I have right now, as I hold your hearts in my hands," Gerry stated during the rose ceremony in episode 5. "I consider this to be one of the most crucial steps I can possibly take."

The elimination of Ellen was particularly surprising, not only to herself but also to fans, as she was the first contestant to express her love for Gerry. After the episode, she shared her heartfelt feelings in an Instagram post, expressing how difficult it was to say goodbye to Gerry. "I was falling in love, and it had been years since I felt those emotions for a man."

Ellen expressed her appreciation for her experience on the show, noting that it has given her a fresh perspective on love. She stated, "I am truly grateful to everyone at @goldenbachabc!!! I now have a newfound hope for love, and as my dear friend Roberta wisely said, 'never say never!!!' I am excited to embark on the journey of finding my forever person. I may not have been ready for a long time, but I am now! .”

Sandra, despite being eliminated, expressed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she had no regrets about choosing to forgo her daughter's wedding to participate in The Golden Bachelor. In a conversation with the outlet earlier this month, she shared, "My son-in-law reassured me, saying, 'Mom, the ceremony lasts only eight minutes. The marriage is what counts.' He encouraged me to go. My daughter also supported my decision, telling me, 'Mom, I've found my perfect match, and you should find yours.' They were both slightly disappointed that I even considered not attending their wedding. After all, they had been married before. My daughter is almost 51, and he is 53."

The Golden Bachelor is broadcasted on ABC every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
