Gerry’s Late Wife Toni
Gerry and Toni, a couple who were in a romantic relationship during high school, relocated from Iowa to Indiana shortly before Toni's untimely passing in 2017.
In a video shared by ABC in August 2023, Gerry remembered their heartbreaking experience. He explained, "We visited the emergency room where we discovered that she had a bacterial infection that affected her kidneys and spread to her liver. Sadly, on July 15, my wife passed away, just eight days after we had sought medical help. Whenever I gaze at the lake outside my residence, I cannot help but think, 'This was her aspiration, her rightful desire. Why am I now standing here all alone?'"

Gerry and Toni, who had a long marriage, happily introduced their two daughters, Jenny and Angie.
Angie enthusiastically expressed in a teaser for Golden Bachelor, "My father is an incredibly enjoyable person. He is amiable and affectionate. He possesses kindness and has a lot to offer, deserving to find that in another person."
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Gerry acknowledged that his daughters and granddaughters expressed concerns about him being overly affectionate with everyone on the first night. However, he reassured them by stating that he had no intention of kissing anyone on the first night, and possibly not even later on. Nevertheless, he openly admitted that he failed to keep his word on the very first night, but he holds no regrets about it.
