Theresa, aged 70, recently addressed the tension and clarified that she had no intentions of making Kathy, also 70, uncomfortable. Taking to Instagram on Monday, October 16, Theresa expressed her difficulty in watching the October 12 episode of the ABC series. She never anticipated finding herself embroiled in drama and emphasized that it was not a reflection of her true character. Theresa believed she could openly and honestly share her feelings with a new friend. As evident, she acknowledged the connection that everyone felt towards Gerry and embraced that. They were all on a collective journey to determine the best match for Gerry.
After considering Gerry's advice, Theresa acknowledged that if she genuinely believed she had not intended to hurt Kathy's feelings, she should try to move forward from the situation. She emphasized that she never had any intention of making Kathy or anyone feel inferior. Theresa also mentioned Edith Aguirre's remark about the tension that arises from dating a single man, affirming her agreement with it.
Additionally, Theresa expressed her appreciation to her fans for their kind messages following the drama. She conveyed her gratitude towards those who recognized her good intentions and expressed remorse for inadvertently hurting Kathy. Theresa extended her thanks to her friends and family who truly knew her, understanding that she would never purposely bring harm to others. She also acknowledged the support of her new friends who could already see her genuine character.

The tension arose when Kathy accused Theresa of flaunting her connection with Gerry in front of the other women after their successful one-on-one date at the diner. "I feel like you're disregarding me, like, 'He and I are going off into the sunset. Start packing because you're going home,'" Kathy expressed to her fellow cast member. "That's the way you've made me feel on occasion."
Theresa started crying, and Kathy continued to criticize her for expressing her admiration for Gerry. "When you talk about your significant connection with him, it gives off a possessive and territorial vibe, as if you're saying, 'Get out of my way, he belongs to me,'" Kathy remarked. "That's not a flattering image, Theresa."
Theresa, feeling embarrassed, turned to Gerry for reassurance. He advised her not to stress about the situation unless she genuinely believed her remarks were inappropriate. However, during a private interview, he acknowledged that this incident could potentially hinder the progress of their developing relationship. Nonetheless, he presented Theresa with a rose during the rose ceremony.
