Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner expressed his delight at finding closure with Faith Martin following her unexpected elimination. During an interview with Sherri Shepherd on Sherri, airing on November 10, Gerry, 72, spoke fondly of Faith, describing her as a truly kind-hearted and affectionate person. Despite their parting at the mansion, they still reassured each other of their love during a heartfelt hug.
During the episode on Thursday, November 9, Gerry made a decision fueled by emotions and sent Faith, who is 60 years old, home after their hometown date. This surprising elimination left viewers in shock, especially considering that both Gerry and Faith had professed their love for each other the week before. Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist are now the final two contestants remaining in Gerry's journey. Faith, holding back tears, expressed her devastation in a confessional, saying, "To put in so much effort and then see it not work out is truly heartbreaking." Before bidding farewell, Gerry expressed his gratitude for getting to know Faith and called it a "joyful" experience.
"I currently feel numb and it will take some time before I can fully comprehend the situation. I'm not even sure if I will ever come to a complete understanding," Faith expressed. "I genuinely believed that our connection was strong enough to lead to marriage. I had envisioned a brighter future for myself and for my children. Perhaps it simply wasn't meant to be." Reflecting on the challenging elimination, Gerry shared his thoughts during an interview with Deadline on Thursday.

"I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do, but that didn't make carrying out that decision any easier," he explained. "The expression on my face and my actions didn't indicate indecision. It was the struggle to find the kindest way to deliver that news and minimize pain for the other person."
During the Women Tell All segment of Thursday's Golden Bachelor episode, Faith found herself in the spotlight, discussing the heartbreaking elimination. It was also the first time she encountered Gerry since their separation. Both of them became emotional, and Faith expressed gratitude towards Gerry for showing her that she could experience love once more.
During his interview with Deadline, Gerry emphasized the importance of him and Faith having a reunion to achieve a sense of closure. He acknowledged that their relationship had ended abruptly and recognized that it was likely harder for her than it was for him. The experience was challenging for both of them, but they were able to find solace in each other's embrace. They shed tears together and reached a point of acceptance. Just as she was about to leave, Gerry seized the opportunity to get her attention and requested one final hug, an emotional moment that will forever stay with him.
Faith also shared a sweet off-stage moment that went unnoticed by the camera.
"As I was leaving, he pulled me back for one last hug. These moments are private, but they hold so much meaning. He's truly a genuine and deep person," she revealed to Glamour on Thursday. "That's what I adored about him from the beginning. He gave me countless gifts and memories that I will always hold dear. So, I feel like I am leaving with so much more than what I had before."
The Golden Bachelor airs on ABC Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
