Bungie is making significant changes to Destiny 2's Exotic Armor pieces and character abilities in Season 22 to improve their use among players.

Exotic armor modifications involve enhancing individual pieces for each character class by introducing new perks and upgrades.

Furthermore, there will be adjustments made to Guardian abilities, with certain Titan abilities being nerfed and a significant overhaul of the Strand subclass spanning across all classes. Additionally, the long-standing issue with a malfunctioning Solar Warlock ability will be addressed and rectified in Season 22.

Bungie has outlined major changes to Destiny 2's Exotic Armor pieces and character abilities for Season 22. In response to player feedback, Bungie aims to improve the utilization of underutilized Exotics in the game. These changes were detailed in a recent State of the Game article, where Bungie addressed community concerns and announced upcoming updates for Season 22 and 23. Despite not raising the power level cap in Season 22, Bungie intends to make the game more challenging. These changes to Guardian abilities and Exotics will be implemented starting from Season 22.

In a recent blog post, Bungie's developer team stated that their main objective for Exotic armor changes in Destiny 2 was to enhance the usage of less popular exotics. To accomplish this, they made adjustments to various Exotic armor pieces across all three character classes. For example, Hunter Exotics such as Knucklehead Radar, Foetracer, Lucky Raspberry, and Renewal Grasps underwent significant changes. The Foetracer now offers two new perks that make it a viable choice in various game modes. Titan Exotics like Icefall Mantle, Doom Fang Pauldrons, Path of the Burning Steps, and Eternal Warrior also received perk modifications to increase their reliability. ACD/0 Feedback Fence and Hallowfire Heart were upgraded as well. In the case of Warlocks, the Astorcyte Verse received a significant buff, causing targets to become volatile when players blink near them. Furthermore, Geomag Stabilizers, Wings of Sacred Dawn, and Winter's Guile also received substantial updates to enhance their functionality.

In addition to Exotic armor pieces, several Guardian abilities are undergoing significant reworking. For example, Titan abilities such as Barricade and Knockout have been nerfed based on player feedback. Additionally, the Strand subclass that was introduced with Lightfall is receiving its first major overhaul across all character classes. This includes tweaks to several Aspects and Fragments, as well as adjustments to the Suspend ability to ensure it has a more balanced role in the game.

The post also mentions that a Destiny 2 Solar Warlock Ability, which has been bugged for a year, will finally be fixed in Season 22. In addition to this fix, there are also upcoming plans for an Exotic mission rotator and the introduction of additional craftable Exotics.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
