Lindsay Arnold shared a funny story with her fans about her toddler accidentally flooding their home.

She took to TikTok on Thursday, May 9, to share the incident with a lighthearted tone.

"In case you’re having a bad day, let me tell you about how our house just flooded. Buckle up pretty unfortunate events here," the Dancing With the Stars alum, 30, said in the video. "But our house flooded."

Arnold, who has two daughters named June, 10, and Sage, 3, with her husband Sam Cusick, shared a recent incident that left her feeling uneasy. Despite the unfortunate situation, she acknowledged that things could have been much worse when compared to the struggles of others.

One evening, they returned home to find their kitchen and main floor flooded with water. Arnold described the situation by showing the amount of water with a gesture using her thumb and index finger. Upon discovering the flood, Sam immediately rushed down to the basement to assess the extent of the damage, and Arnold heard him exclaim a strong swear word in response.

The dancer mentioned that her basement at home got flooded because water came through the ceiling and was pouring in.

She explained, "On that day, the water on our street was shut off for the whole street due to maintenance. None of the faucets were working." Arnold was unsure about the specific construction that was taking place.

Arnold mentioned that they have a water spigot next to their sink at home, which Sage usually uses to get water by herself during the day. She pointed out that Sage has never left the faucet running or spilled any liquid before. Arnold speculated that Sage might have tried to use the spigot when the water was turned off.

According to Arnold, Sage went to fill her cup with water from the spigot, turned it on over the countertop, placed her cup underneath, but no water came out. As a result, she forgot to turn it back off.

Arnold mentioned that she and her family went out to celebrate her mom's birthday with dinner before the water was back on.

The water turned back on around 5:00. We had already left about 15 minutes before the water came back on, and we didn’t return until around 8:30 that night. As soon as the water started flowing again, it ran nonstop for almost three and a half hours. It flooded our countertop, spilled throughout the kitchen, and seeped into the basement.

The flood caused significant damage to our home. We now have to replace all the flooring on the main level, including the kitchen cabinets and island. Since the cabinets have to be removed, we will also need to replace the countertops. Additionally, the drywall, insulation, ceiling, and flooring in the basement were all affected and require repair. Despite the costly mistake made by the toddler, we are trying to stay positive.

“I haven’t ever liked our kitchen countertops so maybe this happened for a reason. Now I can get some new countertops” she half-heartedly joked. “That’s the only bright side.”
