Dancing with the Stars Shakeup: Tyra Banks Exits and Julianne Hough Returns! Britt Stewart Opens Up About Navigating Change

Britt Stewart shares insights on the upcoming changes on 'DWTS' as Julianne Hough steps in for former host Tyra Banks Discover what lies ahead with the dancer's exclusive revelations

Dancing With the Stars fans can anticipate significant alterations for season 32's debut. However, professional dancer Britt Stewart remains optimistic about the show's upcoming chapter. In an exclusive interview on Monday, August 7, the 33-year-old stated, "Change is never a seamless process, but I appreciate Tyra Banks' inclusion in our family for three seasons. Once you are a part of the Dancing with the Stars family, you are forever connected."

Stewart expressed her gratitude for getting to know Banks, who replaced Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as hosts in 2020. The cast will miss Banks, but they are thrilled about Hough's return to the DWTS ballroom. Stewart believes that Hough, being part of the family, will bring in some fresh and lovely energy.

Banks revealed in March that she had decided not to participate in the ongoing dance competition, stating to TMZ that she was completely dedicated to her business endeavors. Subsequently, it was announced in the same month that Hough would be filling the vacant slot as the model's replacement.

"The ballroom is filled with magnetic energy every time I enter, and I eagerly anticipate experiencing it once again and sharing it with our incredible and devoted fans for another thrilling season," stated Hough, a two-time winner of the mirrorball trophy.

Hough's previous participation on DWTS was in season 8 back in 2009. Upon her return, she will be reunited with her brother Derek Hough, who currently serves as a judge on the show.

Season 32 brings some changes as well as the unfortunate absence of Len Goodman, who passed away at the age of 78 after his battle with bone cancer. Len, being a long-time judge, held a special place in our hearts, and his presence will be missed throughout the season.

Ariana Madix, 38, will be competing for the coveted mirrorball trophy in the upcoming season. Although the rest of the celebrity cast and the returning professionals have not been revealed yet, Stewart expressed enthusiasm about Madix's participation. Stewart mentioned hearing great things about her and is excited to see her showcase her talent. He also acknowledged the high expectations set by the previous season.

Stewart began her career on DWTS troupe during the 23rd season and made her professional debut in season 29 partnering with Johnny Weir. She holds the distinction of being the first Black female professional dancer in the show's history.

"In my experience, I have witnessed the lack of progress and diversity in terms of representation," she expressed while promoting the partnership between her nonprofit organization, Share The Movement, and BAND-AID® Brand OURTONE®. "Personally, I have been inspired by Black artists and dancers... So, being included in the list of firsts as the inaugural Black woman professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars is truly an honorable achievement."

Stewart shared with Us that he takes pleasure in embracing the challenge of being a trailblazer and using his experiences to uplift the next generation of BIPOC performers. As part of this commitment, the partnership will organize three BAND-AID® Brand OURTONE® Dance Clinics.
