Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, popularly known for their appearances on "Dancing With the Stars," joyfully welcomed their second child on Sunday, June 18. Murgatroyd, aged 36, had earlier mentioned that she was on her way to the hospital on that day. A few hours later, Chmerkovskiy, aged 43, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photo of himself cradling their newborn, accompanied by the caption "Happy Father's Day to me! #MadeInPeta."

In January 2022, the New Zealand-born individual shared on social media the exciting news of her pregnancy. Taking to Instagram, Murgatroyd expressed her immense happiness and revealed that she and @maksimc were expecting their second child, using the hashtag #2. Accompanying her announcement was a photo showcasing her baby bump. She further shared the challenging journey they had endured, including two years of difficulties, three miscarriages, and an unsuccessful embryo transfer. However, amidst all the struggles, they were now grateful to have a healthy baby on the way.

The professional Latin dancer expressed her surprise at getting pregnant just before she and her husband, who have a six-year-old son named Shai, were about to begin their second round of IVF. She expressed gratitude to everyone who has been with her on her fertility journey, stating that it feels like she is sharing the news with her extended family. The upcoming arrival in June 2023 has brought immense joy to their family.

"The Burn the Floor sensation has openly discussed experiencing three miscarriages within a two-year timeframe. In a heartfelt Instagram post in July 2022, Murgatroyd shared, 'Expressing it to a colleague for the first time brought a peculiar sense of relief, as if a fragment of shame had been gradually shed. And now, here I am... revealing my true self, vulnerable and exposed. My aspiration is that by sharing my personal journey with all of you, it may offer solace to others enduring a similar plight.'"

Murgatroyd revealed that her struggles with fertility, including her experiences with pregnancy losses and IVF, had a profound impact on her relationship with Chmerkovskiy. She explained that going through such challenges brought them closer together and created a strong bond between them. Making important decisions as a couple and moving forward as a united family unit became crucial during this difficult time, and she believes that they successfully achieved that.

After a brief split in 2013, the couple, who have been married for over five years, first crossed paths while working together on Broadway's Burn the Floor in July 2009. Murgatroyd made her debut on DWTS in 2011, while the Ukraine native joined the show in 2009.
