Experience Destiny 2's Revamped The Dawning Event Featuring Exciting Stasis Weapons and Game-Changing Perks

'Tis the season to explore the Solar System and unleash some holiday-themed firepower, as Destiny 2's annual Dawning event begins on December 12. Eva Levante, the space-grandma, will encourage you to defeat the enemies of the Light and collect ingredients to bake various cookies. It's a bit strange, but just go with it.

You can also collect Dawning Essence from activities to purchase upgrades that will be available throughout the entire event. These upgrades include the following perks:

Snowball fight!Bonus event rewards.

The ability to earn Dawning weapons with additional perks from Eva.

Increased power and utility for your Stasis snowballs.

Weapon focusing that allows for targeted weapon drops.

The process of obtaining stasis snowballs has been updated this year. Instead of being scattered in patrol zones, players will now generate a snowball spawn point by defeating an enemy using a Dawning weapon or ability. Additionally, a new weapon called the Albedo Wing will be available for collection this year, which can be obtained from Event Challenges, weapon focusing, or Festive Engrams. Players can also acquire the new Dawning Memento through the Winter Night quest, which includes a Stasis-energy sword called Zephyr. Furthermore, Dawning weapons will have enhanced and powerful perks this season.

Inflicting continuous damage gives a damage boost against vehicles and constructs and partially reloads the magazine. Using Primary ammo or damaging constructs also provides extra progress.

Constructs consist of barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects formed in the field.

This perk description states that it partially refills the magazine, but we'd like to clarify that this pulls ammo from thin air, not reserves.

Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power.

Cold Steel

Powered sword hits slow targets.

Beacon Rounds

Final blows with this weapon grant your projectiles tracking. Dealing further damage extends the duration.

Dawning Surprise (Origin Trait)

Defeating targets quickly will result in a Dawning gift, and powerful targets count for more. However, there are reports of low morale at Bungie due to mass layoffs and underperformance of the Lightfall expansion. There are even rumors of a potential Sony takeover if the delayed Final Shape expansion fails to meet expectations.
