Exclusive Inside Scoop: Unveiling the Start Date for Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2023!

Get ready for a spine-chilling experience in Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost! Unveiling the start date for this highly anticipated Halloween event, players are eagerly waiting to immerse themselves in the eerie festivities

In addition to seasonal updates and story content, each year of Destiny 2 includes four holiday events for players. These events, based on real-world holidays, have a unique twist in the game's futuristic post-apocalyptic setting. One such event is Halloween, which is now known as the Festival of the Lost. This event pays tribute to those who have passed away and has evolved over time. However, players can expect this year's Festival of the Lost to be largely unchanged. Here are the details on when the event begins and what new features it offers.

When Does Festival of the Lost Begin?

The Festival of the Lost is set to begin on October 17th at 1 PM EST/10 AM PST, according to Bungie's recent weekly post. Typically lasting for three weeks, players can anticipate the event to conclude on November 7th when the weekly reset occurs at 1 PM EST/10 AM PST.

As a yearly tradition, players have the opportunity to vote for their preferred sets of armor. The winning set becomes the Eververse Ornament set available for purchase with Silver or Bright Dust. Titans and Hunters will have spider-themed sets, while Warlocks will have a beetle-inspired set. Additionally, an array of exclusive Festival of the Lost cosmetics will be available for players to purchase during this event.

Haunted Sectors and the peculiarly named Headless Ones are making a comeback alongside the conventional selection of community-voted armor. However, this time around, there will be a Legend difficulty variation of Haunted Sectors. Bungie has not provided clarification if this signifies the introduction of Champions within Haunted Sectors or if players will need to contend with impactful modifiers that alter the gameplay.

In addition to a new difficulty for Haunted Sectors, this year will see the introduction of a new type of Festival of the Lost themed engram known as Eerie Engrams. These engrams have a chance to drop from Haunted Sectors and, like other engrams, can be opened or focused in order to obtain specific loot. What sets Eerie Engrams apart is the possibility of containing a fresh Memento for weapon crafting. This is an exciting addition for players, as the game has not seen a new Memento since the launch of Witch Queen in 2022.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
