Destiny 2's Veil Questline: A Frustrating Timegate

Destiny 2 players are disappointed to find out that the new Veil questline is timegated and cannot be completed in one go Despite being eagerly awaited, the quest has left fans frustrated with its limitations

The Season of the Deep has released the highly anticipated continuation to Destiny 2: Lightfall's perplexing storyline. However, fans have been left disappointed as the quest cannot currently be completed. Previously, Destiny 2: Lightfall left players baffled with the unexplained Veil artifact, leading to requests for clarification from Bungie. The developers responded by announcing that the quest would continue through Lightfall's seasonal content, with the first part now available.

Naturally, fans of Destiny 2's lore leapt into the promised Veil questline as soon as it was released, only to find that only a small portion of the full quest was available. Unfortunately, Bungie decided to stagger the quest's progression steps over several weeks, despite it being a continuation of Lightfall's main narrative, rather than part of the seasonal content. Although Bungie has staggered quests before, the lack of communication ahead of time left a sour taste in some players' mouths.

As it stands, players are no closer to discovering the truth behind the Veil than they were when Lightfall was released. The community has been busy trying to piece together the Veil's secrets, but until Bungie provides some clarification, it's all just uncorroborated theories. However, there is potential for some big reveals, and it's possible that the Veil's story may tie into the Season of the Deep in some way.

The origin of the Veil has been confirmed by the community to be rooted in the teachings of 17th-century philosopher Jakob Bohme. For those eager to unravel the mystery behind Destiny 2's upcoming updates, delving into Bohme's unique perspective on the nature of the universe may provide some valuable insights.

In other news, Destiny 2: Lightfall players can now earn the highly anticipated hand cannon that has been heavily promoted. Completing the first step of the questline will guarantee the acquisition of this powerful weapon. Although the promotional materials showcased a full set of "feather" weapons, it remains to be seen whether Bungie will replace them with a retextured set of Shadowkeep's Moon-themed weaponry ahead of Lightfall's release.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
