Xur has returned once again to Destiny 2, bringing along a fresh selection of exotic and legendary gear for players to peruse. Week 2 of the Festival of the Lost event has undergone some changes from Bungie, aimed at aiding players in their progression. A recent update in Destiny 2 has made it easier for players to earn Eerie Engrams while playing through the Haunted Sector playlist. This adjustment has increased the frequency at which Eerie Engrams drop, giving players better chances of obtaining more Lost Mementos.
In the meantime, fans of the game continue to provide feedback on how to further enhance the Halloween-themed event. Many players have expressed a desire for Bungie to make masks available to be used with the transmog feature. Currently, players are required to equip a mask in their helmet slot in order to earn candy, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer to use an exotic helmet. By implementing transmog, players would still be able to enjoy the benefits of wearing a mask while retaining the perks and stats of their equipped helmet.
Where is Xur?
Xur makes a comeback along with the Festival of the Lost, offering a wide array of exotics and legendaries to Destiny 2 players in the upcoming days. This guide provides you with the latest information on his weekend whereabouts, updates on his exotic cipher quest, and a comprehensive overview of the exotic and legendary gear available for the weekend of October 27, 2023.
Over the next few days, Xur is located inside the Tower Hangar.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
To reach the main Tower location swiftly, make use of fast travel and head towards the left side into the Hangar. Progress further by taking another left and continue past the Dead Orbit section until you come across a metal staircase. Ascend the stairs and you will eventually find Xur positioned upon a platform, providing a captivating view of the distant mountain range.
Xur still plays a vital role in offering the regular weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. These quests are not only needed to buy a second fated engram, but also crucial in obtaining legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. By completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches, players can earn a new cipher. They can earn extra points by playing with clan members or completing more difficult activities.
Furthermore, Xur has expanded his inventory to include even more gear beyond his usual offerings. Alongside his usual exotic gear, Xur now sells Legendary Weapons and Armor in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Winter's Guile - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Warlord's Sigil enhances player melee damage by defeating enemies with melee attacks. Additionally, Penumbral Blast automatically shatters targets it encases. This exotic is particularly interesting for Shadebinder Warlocks, offering significant increases to Resilience and Strength. However, it comes at the expense of other attributes and may only be beneficial for specific builds. The chaotic stat distribution makes it difficult to recommend.
Stat Values (65 Total):
Mobility +2
Resilience +28
Recovery +4
Discipline +6
Intellect +2
Strength +23
Young Ahamkara's Spine - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
The Wish-Dragon Teeth enhances the duration and blast radius of Tripmine Grenades. It also grants Tripmine Grenade energy from ability final blows. However, this exotic recently underwent a nerf by Bungie for the Destiny 2 midseason update, making it more challenging to counter in PvP. Despite its decent perks, the exotic is now difficult to recommend due to its limited focus on tripmine grenades.
Stat Values (67 Total):
Mobility +14
Resilience +3
Recovery +18
Discipline +12
Intellect +2
Strength +18
Peacekeepers - Titan leg armor
Exotic Perk:
The Mecha Holster is a valuable accessory for Submachine Gun enthusiasts. It enables quick reloading and instant readiness of these weapons. Moreover, it enhances Submachine Gun handling and mobility, granting a moderate boost to airborne effectiveness. However, if you prefer alternative options like the powerful Osteo Striga, this exotic may not be suitable for you this week.
Stat Values (67 total):
Mobility +3
Resilience +3
Recovery +28
Discipline +11
Intellect +10
Strength +12
Exotic Weapon
The Prospector sets itself apart from other grenade launchers in its class by offering the unique capability of firing rounds in full automatic mode when the trigger is held down. Its exotic perk, called Excavation, allows players to hold the trigger to launch the grenade and then release it to simultaneously detonate all the live grenades. Furthermore, the grenades possess the ability to stick to surfaces and ignite targets.
This weapon's perks include:
Chambered Compensator
Extended Mag
Fitted Stock
Hawkmoon Rolls
At present, Hawkmoon with randomized rolls is the only item Xur is offering. However, its availability is time-limited as Harbinger will eventually be incorporated into the Exotic Mission Rotator, allowing players to create the hand cannon themselves.
