Bungie has unveiled new details about the Exotic weapon available in Destiny 2's season pass, Season of the Wish. Fans of the original Destiny's Exotic rocket launchers will be pleased to know that an updated version of Dragon's Breath will be included in the game's arsenal next season. Dragon's Breath was initially introduced in Destiny's Dark Below expansion as a fire-and-forget weapon, featuring a simple delivery system for a powerful explosive. However, Destiny 2's weapons have evolved significantly since then, and the latest version of Dragon's Breath has undergone substantial upgrades that prioritize patience and strategic target selection.
Dragon's Breath in Destiny 2 introduces a unique fuel counter that gradually increases as you refrain from using it. This counter can reach a maximum of five stacks, and upon firing the weapon, the counter is depleted, transferring all accumulated fuel into the rocket. These rockets have the ability to embed themselves in their targets, causing Scorch damage and creating flammable puddles that release incendiary fuel. Those caught in these puddles will experience additional Scorch stacks. The duration of this effect increases with the amount of fuel consumed before the rocket finally detonates.
Dragon's Breath possesses an intrinsic perk called High Octane, which refills the rocket launcher with two stacks of fuel instantly when nearby ignitions occur. Once fully refueled, the weapon automatically reloads itself. Obtaining the Exotic Catalytic for Dragon's Breath provides even greater benefits, as eliminating enemies will generate Firesprites that enhance your Solar abilities. Additionally, your fuel tank will be refueled at a faster rate passively.
The Season of the Wish will start on November 28, but there is currently no official announcement regarding its end date. As Bungie has recently undergone significant staff reductions and faced criticism for the impact of these layoffs on its workforce, there have been rumors that The Final Shape might be postponed from February to June. Although Bungie has not commented on this speculation, they did acknowledge that they plan to incorporate player feedback into updates for The Final Shape.

As a Destiny 2 enthusiast, the news of Dragon's Breath's revival in Season of the Wish has ignited a fiery passion within me. This Exotic rocket launcher, once a formidable force in the original Destiny, now returns with enhanced mechanics that emphasize patience and strategy. The addition of the fuel counter adds a new layer of depth to the weapon, encouraging players to carefully manage their shots for maximum impact. The Scorch damage and flammable puddles created by Dragon's Breath will undoubtedly unleash chaos on the battlefield, incinerating foes with scorching intensity.
Furthermore, the synergy between Dragon's Breath and Solar abilities, fueled by the High Octane perk and Exotic Catalyst, promises to elevate the weapon's potential to new heights. The generation of Firesprites and the accelerated fuel tank refilling rate will empower Guardians with scorching Solar abilities, turning them into walking infernos capable of decimating entire hordes of enemies. The combination of Dragon's Breath and Solar subclasses will surely ignite a revolution in combat strategies, allowing players to unleash unparalleled devastation upon their foes.
