Some fans of Destiny 2 have expressed disappointment with the game's latest season, Season of the Deep, due to the lack of a new Ritual Armor Set. This has led to criticism of Bungie for not delivering on promises and being motivated by greed. Despite the game's overall positive reception since its launch in 2017, there are instances where it is difficult to determine whether the success of Destiny 2 is due to or in spite of Bungie's actions. In this season, players are tasked with exploring the methane oceans of Titan, one of Saturn's moons.

Multiple Destiny 2 players have expressed their disappointment with Season of the Deep for not having a new Ritual Armor Set. Ritual Armors are special equipment that players earn by completing specific mission playlists. It was previously stated by Bungie that the Ritual Armor Set rewards would reset with the Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion, which was launched in February 2023. However, this has not come into fruition and the new season does not seem to have a new Ritual Armor set either. It is expected that Destiny 2 refreshes its Ritual Armor rewards every year, and players are unhappy that Bungie appears to be neglecting this aspect of the game.

Apart from the lack of a new Ritual set, Destiny 2 fans have other grievances about Season of the Deep. A Reddit user, kristijan1001, has pointed out that Bungie seems to be relying too heavily on its Eververse Store. For instance, the new premium armor set in Season of the Deep can only be purchased with Silver, an in-game currency bought with real money. However, there is no new armor set available for purchase with Dust, a currency earned in-game. Previous Destiny 2 seasons had both options, but the new "Season of the Deep" armor set is only available for purchase with Silver.

Season of the Deep had the potential to introduce exciting underwater missions to Bungie's sci-fi MMO, but unfortunately falls short of expectations. Some fans were disappointed with the lack of combat in the underwater gameplay, while others have raised concerns about the game becoming pay-to-win. While Destiny 2 isn't quite there yet, it's a valid concern that should be addressed.

As a result, the Destiny 2 community has been expressing their dissatisfaction with the game. While this doesn't necessarily mean everyone will abandon it, some players on the subreddit have already considered moving on to other games. With so many great MMOs available, it's understandable that players are running out of patience.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
