Bungie has recently hinted at upcoming changes in the next Destiny 2 update, which includes re-enabling exotics like Khepri's Horn and revising the rewards given after completing the Last Wish weekly quest. As a constantly evolving live service title, Destiny 2 has undergone significant adjustments in its 6-year run. With the game now free-to-play, crossplay and cross save options, and availability on platforms like the Epic Games Store, Bungie has kept up with the times. However, the frequent addition and modification of content and features have also led to unexpected issues and bugs, which fans seem to be experiencing more frequently. For instance, a recently discovered bug enables arcstrider Hunters to use Strand abilities, thanks to newly added aspects. While Bungie has shown its agility in addressing major issues with the game, it has also been known to disable items, such as the Titan exotic, Khepri's Horn, when necessary.
During the first week of Season 21 Iron Banner, players wearing the Vesper of Radius exotic helmet were able to dominate matches by quickly filling their team's meter with points earned at a capture point. This caused matches to end in under a minute, making the gameplay experience frustrating for other players. However, Bungie has taken notice and has announced that the upcoming update, set to launch on June 13, will include a fix for this issue. The Vesper of Radius will have its explosive ability toned down when used with certain weapons, and Subracers will also receive a fix to ensure that their solar grenades last for the expected duration.
The upcoming patch notes are set to be unveiled next week, but Bungie has already shared some fixes for common issues. For instance, players will no longer experience grenades penetrating Barricades and Wards of Dawn, while the Collective Action perk will be adjusted to decrease its damage buff from 20% to 10%. Additionally, Bungie clarified that the unintended bonus reward for completing the Last Wish weekly quest from Hawthorne will no longer be available after the update. Moving forward, players will only receive one Deepsight weapon per week, along with the one earned from the final chest of the Riven encounter.
Lately, many members of the Destiny 2 community have expressed their disappointment about the lack of promised content. Gambit has been a particularly contentious issue, as players feel that the game mode has been neglected for years. Another source of frustration has been the lack of new ritual armor sets for playlist activities like Iron Banner or Trials, which have not been updated in almost a year.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
