Ghosts Of The Deep: Defeat Simmumah Ur-Nokru, Lucent Necromancer
The final showdown in Destiny 2's Ghosts of the Deep dungeon is a true homage to the game's past. The boss fight features nods to Oryx's body, Deepsight nodes, and Hive rituals, all culminating in a mechanically simple yet truly menacing battle. This Lucent Hive-themed dungeon of Season of the Deep ends on a high note with the appearance of Simmumah Ur-Nokru.
While Simmumah may move like any other Hive wizard in Destiny 2, players should be on guard for her surprise attacks. She has a few tricks hidden up her sleeve, including unleashing a swarm of moths that can swiftly take out a guardian in one shot. However, with the right strategy, the players can emerge victorious in Ghosts of the Deep's third and final encounter.
As soon as players enter the arena where Oryx's body is being resurrected, they are greeted by a rally banner right at the front. Similar to Ecthar's encounter, this boss fight comprises both underwater and overground sections. However, players only need to navigate through the underwater sections to access additional rooms in the cave system where the boss encounter takes place.
Interact with the Deepsight node that spawns somewhere in the arena and spot three locations with black dots hovering and a green ritual circle highlighted on the ground. These circles are connected with green lines and standing on any of them grants the Ritual Conductor buff. Defeat the Hive knight named Vorlog, Risen In Heresy, while standing on the ritual circle to move the boss to that specific location. Don't forget to begin the encounter by destroying the ghost near Oryx's head.
After defeating Vorgol, two symbols will appear in the air: a Hive face symbol and a circle. To progress, players must align themselves so that they can peer through the circle in the direction of the Hive face symbol. This will require moving to a different ritual circle within the arena.
Players can discover the Hive rune necessary for each ritual circle by exploring the underwater cave doors around the arena. There are a total of three runes to uncover for each phase, which may require some dedicated searching. Fortunately, the encounter is not timed until players acquire a Vestige, so there's no need to rush.
Upon entering the cave, players will find themselves in a network of three separate rooms. In each room, a Hive symbol hovers above a group of foes and a Lucent Lightbearer. To obtain a Vestige, players must defeat the Lightbearer and retrieve the item before making their way back to the central arena.
To successfully complete this encounter, players must carry the Vestige and collect the Deepsight buff from a node. Once they have the buff, they need to head to the matching symbol's location to bank the Vestige. When all three Vestiges are banked, the ritual circles will transform into green pools, similar to the first encounter, which will grant players the Piercing Light buff. This buff enables players to destroy the boss's shield and a message indicating that she's vulnerable will appear.
After one damage phase, the process repeats itself. Simmumah deals a significant amount of Arc damage, so players should equip themselves with double or even triple Arc Resistance mods and heavy ad-clear. During the damage phase, the boss teleports around the arena, so players should be prepared to deal damage from afar. Linear fusion rifles can be effective for players with precise aim, while machine guns or rocket launchers can also be used. Players must also remain vigilant of moths that can easily sneak up and deal massive damage.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
