Bungie has announced that the Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle will be making a comeback in the Crota’s End raid of Destiny 2. The raid race for Crota’s End is scheduled to begin on September 1, giving players a 48-hour window to complete it under Contest Mode.

In 2021, Bungie started revisiting its classic raids with the Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2, which was followed by the re-release of King’s Fall after the Witch Queen DLC came out. While there was some speculation within the community that Wrath of the Machine could also be the returning raid this year, multiple leaks had already pointed towards Crota’s End, and Bungie has now confirmed that the fan-favorite Exotic will indeed be making a return alongside the raid.

In a recent official announcement, Bungie has provided more details regarding the inclusion of the Necrochasm Exotic in Destiny 2's Crota's End raid. Normally, obtaining raid exotics relies heavily on luck due to the low drop rate determined by RNG. However, Bungie has decided to introduce some changes for Crota's End. This time, players who complete the raid in Contest Mode will receive guaranteed rewards, including the coveted Necrochasm. In order to qualify for these rewards, players must first acquire a quest called "Bottomless Pit" prior to the raid. Upon successful completion of the raid in Contest Mode, the quest will be marked as finished and the rewards will be instantly added to the player's inventory.

Completing the encounters and Triumphs in the raid will reward players with Essence of the Oversoul. This material can be used to complete the Bottomless Pit quest if the raid is not finished in Contest Mode. It will also be essential for obtaining the Exotic Catalyst for Necrochasm, although it cannot be completed while Contest Mode is active. In a first for Bungie, players who finish the raid in Contest Mode will be guaranteed an Exotic drop. Given that Crota's End in Destiny 2 is one of the shortest raids, many players will have the opportunity to obtain Necrochasm within the first 48 hours of its launch.

Moreover, Bungie's post confirms that Stasis will receive significant attention in the upcoming Season 23. This response addresses player complaints about the absence of Stasis mods in Destiny 2 Season 22's Artifact. These concerns will be addressed and accompanied by changes to the subclass as a whole.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
