According to a source speaking exclusively to We, Ray J and Princess have had a rocky relationship with breakups and makeups in the past. However, this time around, the decision feels more final. Both parties are walking away with the certainty that they have given their marriage their best shot.

Love, also known as Princess Norwood, who is 39 years old, shared the news of their decision to divorce on Instagram in February.

In a heartfelt statement, she expressed that after deep contemplation, conversations, and counseling, they have come to the difficult realization that their paths have taken different directions. She emphasized that the decision to part ways was made with careful thought, mutual respect, and consideration for each other's well-being.

The former couple, who got married in 2016, have gone through multiple breakups in the past. Love first asked for a divorce in May 2020, but changed her mind two months later. In September, Ray J (full name William Norwood Jr.), 43, filed for divorce, only to withdraw the request in February 2021. He then filed again in October 2021, but decided to cancel the divorce process in March 2023.

The two also had a public dispute in November 2019, when a pregnant Love accused Ray J of leaving her and their 5-year-old daughter Melody stranded in Las Vegas and blocking her from contacting him on social media.

Ray J, who has a son named Epik with Love, addressed the accusations by saying, “I am all about my family. I love my family and have always put them first. It's heartbreaking to think that anyone would suggest that I would ever do anything to hurt my daughter.”

Love made it clear in her announcement about their breakup that she and Ray J are dedicated to co-parenting their children and keeping a positive family dynamic.
