Murillo popped the question to the "Missin U" singer in September. Kelly joyfully announced the news on Instagram with a heartfelt message saying "I love you," accompanied by a photo capturing her shocked expression.
In celebration of this significant milestone, Murillo took to social media with a post of his own. Sharing a photo of himself embracing his now-fiancée, he captioned it, "To have and to hold... to cherish and protect. My best friend said 'yes'."

In May, the lovebirds took their solemn vows. When October arrived, Kelly expressed her excitement to We magazine about her beloved spouse. "Marriage is truly incredible," she happily shared. "Having your best friend as your life partner is such a remarkable experience, as you get to journey through life together."

Kelly and Murillo experienced immense joy when they welcomed their toy poodle, Frodo, into their home in April.
"The sight of Kelly's radiant smile with Frodo nestled on her lap in this photograph fills my heart with happiness," exclaimed the athlete in the caption of their Instagram post. "Her smile has been constant ever since the day we brought Frodo into our lives. I would do anything to keep witnessing that captivating smile forever ️️️."

In the midst of the coronavirus lockdown, the couple commemorated their two-year wedding anniversary in May. Kelly shared with E! News that she and Murillo were continuing to discover new things about each other.
"It's simply incredible to have the opportunity to learn and evolve together. Commitment truly embodies the essence of beauty," she expressed to the outlet. "By embracing every aspect of a person, both the positive and negative, we demonstrate the true depth of our connection. Murillo penned a sweet Instagram tribute to the Grammy winner to commemorate their wedding anniversary.
“Happy 3 year anniversary to my one and only. Each day spent with you is a true blessing that I am eternally grateful for,” he wrote alongside several heartfelt photos of him and Kelly. "Your kind and caring nature towards everyone inspires me to be the best version of myself. Being your husband and biggest supporter is a privilege. I love you immeasurably."

Kelly and Murillo decided to dress up as characters from the 1987 film The Princess Bride for Halloween. Kelly chose to portray Buttercup, while Murillo took on the role of Fezzik, André the Giant's character. In an Instagram post featuring pictures of their costumes, Murillo playfully remarked, "No one has ever referred to me as Andre the Giant before," highlighting his towering height of 6'7".
2023
In July, Kelly was admitted to the hospital after fainting during a social gathering with friends, according to TMZ. Upon examination, medical professionals identified the presence of blood clots in the legs and lungs of the former American Idol contestant.
During his wife's hospitalization, Murillo posted a video on his Instagram Story featuring Kelly's collaboration with Justin Bieber and Chandler Moore, called "Where Do I Fit In."
In the clip, Kelly sings about his feelings of loneliness and fear, and how his insecurities are silenced when he is reminded of the love and support he receives. He expresses gratitude for the constant presence and unwavering affection from his loved ones.
