The recent release of Honkai: Star Rail's Version 1.1 has left many players thrilled with the introduction of a new five-star banner character, Silver Wolf, as well as exciting events and improvements to the overall gameplay experience. Before its launch, rumors and anticipation had been building around the update, and even after its release, the excitement continues to linger. In fact, HoYoverse even hosted a special stream to showcase the new features, providing players with a sneak peek of what they can expect before the next update, coming in July.
After updating Honkai: Star Rail, players quickly realized that the promised Friend Chat feature was not yet available. Despite HoYoverse confirming the feature weeks prior to the release of Version 1.1, players were left disappointed and wondering when the official release date would be announced. The Version 1.1 overview blog on HoYoLab had initially announced that the Friend Chat function would be included in the update, but players were left waiting for its arrival. On social media, many players expressed their disappointment with the delay and hoped that HoYoverse would add emotes to the Friend Chat, similar to the cute Pom-Pom emotes characters use to communicate with each other. Twitter user PomPomArchive, who frequently posts Star Rail news and leaks, speculated that the feature may have been delayed due to the initial leak seeming too plain.
According to HoYoverse's blog, there is still hope that the in-game chat feature will be implemented in Honkai: Star Rail. This feature would allow players to interact with their friends, and it could potentially pave the way for a co-op mode in dungeon levels, similar to Genshin Impact. Such a mode would provide players with more opportunities to gain experience points and upgrade materials. Some players may be concerned about the delay of the Friend Chat feature, but HoYoverse has been responsive to feedback in the past and may provide an update on its status for future versions of the game. In the meantime, players can focus on completing the Punklorde Mentality event missions and farming Stellar Jades for gacha pulls, which may help alleviate their disappointment over the delay.
Honkai Star Rail is available now on Mobile and PC, with PS4 and PS5 versions in development.
