Honkai: Star Rail boasts a captivating narrative that chronicles the galactic odyssey of a group known as the Trailblazers. Each character in the game possesses distinct abilities derived from a variety of elements and Paths. The Paths, a wellspring of energy, were also harnessed by divine-like entities called Aeons, who govern the universe of Honkai: Star Rail and remain bound to these Paths for eternity.
While the Aeons may not be tangible fixtures within Honkai: Star Rail, their presence can be sensed through character dialogues, reading materials, and the Simulated Universe. The enigmatic Black Swan introduced these deities in the enthralling "Fable of the Stars." It may come as a surprise to many players that there are not just a handful, but a total of 18 Aeons in Star Rail, each playing a significant role in shaping the game's expansive universe.
What Players Need to Know About Honkai: Star Rail's Aeons
Aha The Elation, also known as the Aeon of Joy, is depicted as an entity adorned with various masks. The devoted followers of Aha, known as the Masked Fools, believe that the essence of reality is a jest, and that the true significance of all things can be found in laughter.
The central figures in Honkai: Star Rail, known as the main characters, embark on interstellar voyages in honor of Akivili and the Path of The Trailblaze, all while aboard the Astral Express. Legends say that they traveled through different realms to create a celestial pathway that connects isolated worlds throughout the universe.
Ena The Order: The details regarding Ena the Order are limited as they were assimilated by the Aeon Xipe. The Beyond the Sky Choir, a faction believed to be only mythical by Herta, lost their faith upon Ena's disappearance.
Fuli The Remembrance: Fuli is described as an enigmatic entity by the Genius Society and Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC), rarely revealing themselves to mortals. When they do appear, they take on a humanoid form crafted from crystal. Additionally, there are suggestions that Fuli existed prior to the creation of the universe and somehow possesses all human memories.
HooH The Equilibrium: HooH the Equilibrium was believed to be the ultimate source of balance in the universe. In contrast, Honkai: Star Rail used the Equilibrium Level to determine the challenge and available content for players.
IX The Nihility: While humans considered IX to be a "peaceful" Aeon, they were also highly dangerous when provoked. Similarly, playable characters on the Path of Nihility possessed debuff abilities and the ability to inflict damage over time (DOT).
Idrila The Beauty: Idrila was created from the pure benevolence of the material realm. The Knights of Beauty, to whom the renowned figure Argenti is said to belong, are her most loyal followers.
Lan The Hunt: Also recognized as the Reignbow Arbiter, Lan the Hunt was initially a mortal who ascended to godhood. Leading the Xianzhou army in their battle against the Heliobi, Lan later confronted Aeon Yaoshi and transformed the citizens of Xianzhou into mara-struck undead creatures. Those who embrace the Path of The Hunt are primarily damage-per-second (DPS) fighters specializing in critical damage.
Little is known about Long the Permanence, as it is widely believed that they perished before the events of Honkai: Star Rail. Their name draws inspiration from the Chinese characters for "dragon," potentially offering a glimpse into their appearance.
Mythus The Enigmata: Revered by a multitude of gifted artists, Mythus the Enigmata is a mysterious entity who holds the belief that the true nature of things transcends human perception. Embracing the concept of enigma, Mythus advocates for the perpetuation of the unknown.
Nanook The Destruction: As the formidable commander of the Antimatter Legion, Nanook emerges as the primary adversary in the captivating realm of Honkai: Star Rail. Born under the shadow of rumors surrounding the annihilation of their own world, Nanook's destructive capabilities are infamous. Notably, playable Destruction characters exhibit elevated DEF and heightened ATK as their HP dwindles.
Nous The Erudition: Prior to becoming an Aeon, Nous functioned as an astral computer that analyzed the fundamental nature of the universe and its definitive resolution. The Genius Society, comprising the most brilliant intellects in the cosmos, reveres Nous and subscribes to its belief system. Playable Erudition characters, such as Jing Yuan and Serval, possess the ability to inflict area-of-effect damage to adversaries.
Oroboros The Voracity: Often referred to as an insatiable devourer of planets, Oroboros manifests itself in the formidable guise of a menacing Leviathan.
Qlipoth, also known as The Preservation, fulfills the role of a formidable guardian for planets, shielding them from potential destruction. In the city of Belobog on Jarilo-VI, the citizens hold the Aeon in high esteem, with a statue honoring their protective prowess erected in the Administrative District. Alongside these revered beings, there are other preservation characters, such as March 7th and Gepard, who possess their own unique abilities to provide shields and safeguard their allies.
Tayzzyronth's Propagation: The creation of the Path of Propagation was thought to have stemmed from a sense of isolation following the vanishing of Long the Permanence. Through this journey, Tayzzyronth underwent a transformative experience, becoming a terrifying being capable of self-replication. Eventually, it was besieged and ultimately eliminated by numerous Aeons.
Terminus, the Finality: Currently, there is limited information available regarding Terminus. One noteworthy detail, however, is that they are accompanied by two groups known as the Omen Vanguards and Creed Exequy.
Xipe The Harmony was the embodiment of unity and joy, encompassing all beings that preached these values. This attribute was also evident in Harmony-type characters, who possessed abilities to enhance the stats of their allies.
Yaoshi The Abundance was renowned for bestowing immortality upon individuals, but unfortunately, this resulted in the creation of undead monsters in Xianzhou, now known as the Mara-Struck. Though they were ultimately defeated by Lan the Hunt, they gained a devoted following known as the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. However, playable characters with the Abundance affiliation, such as Luocha and Bailu, primarily function as healers, often providing beneficial effects to their allies.
Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
