HoYoverse's Honkai: Star Rail is set to introduce a new playable character, the enigmatic Stellaron Hunter Blade With a host of unique five-star and four-star characters already available, players can look forward to adding this mysterious addition to their lineup in a future update

Honkai: Star Rail has unveiled a new character who will be joining the game in an upcoming update - the enigmatic Stellaron Hunter Blade. Developed by HoYoverse, the latest RPG has already introduced players to a range of characters to collect and add to their team. The game's release included nine unique five-star playable characters, as well as the Trailblazer and a selection of thirteen four-star characters. Now, HoYoverse is teasing the addition of another character to the roster.

The storyline in Honkai: Star Rail centers around the Stellaron Hunters, a mysterious organization traveling through the universe in search of the rare and powerful Stellarons. Players have already been introduced to several members of the organization, including Silver Wolf, Kafka, and Blade, during the initial stages of the game. Each character has been hinted at as a playable character in future updates, with leaks suggesting that Silver Wolf will be the first to join the roster in Version 1.1, followed by Kafka in 1.2. Now, Star Rail has officially announced that Blade will also be joining the game in one of the upcoming updates.

The official Honkai: Star Rail Twitter account unveiled Blade on Monday night along with his splash art and a brief description of the new character. Blade is shrouded in mystery, concealing his true identity and going by the name Blade. He is said to possess a terrifying self-healing ability, making him a formidable opponent. According to the post, Blade is a Wind element character in the Destruction Path and is expected to be a versatile fighter with both offensive and defensive capabilities. Blade is rumored to be released in Version 1.2, with the reveal suggesting that his launch is imminent.

Blade's early reveal is part of Honkai: Star Rail's "drip marketing" strategy, which has become a trend among Genshin Impact fans. The developer typically releases teaser images of new characters at the start of the patch prior to their official release, generating buzz and excitement among fans about the upcoming update's characters. Similar teaser images have been released for Genshin Impact, with the most recent one featuring new character Kirara at the beginning of Version 3.6. Version 1.2 of Honkai: Star Rail is slated for a mid-July release, while Version 1.1's Special Program is expected to launch later this week.

HoYoVerse fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming first post-launch update for Honkai: Star Rail. The developer is planning to introduce a highly-requested chat system, as well as several new playable characters including Silver Wolf, Luocha, and Yukong. This update aims to maintain the momentum from the RPG's successful launch, and players can expect even more exciting features and content in the future. Honkai: Star Rail is currently available on PC and mobile devices, with PS4 and PS5 versions currently in the works.
