Summary
Ryan Gosling in Barbie is edited to look like a live-action Doflamingo from One Piece in a new image shared on social media.
The image has received mostly positive feedback, with numerous users commending the casting decision and expressing their desire for it to materialize. Given that Doflamingo's introduction in the One Piece manga and anime occurs much later in their respective runs, there is a possibility that the character may not make an appearance for quite a while in the Netflix adaptation.
Ryan Gosling has been cast as Doflamingo in a new image edit for the popular One Piece series. The casting choice has gained popularity online. One Piece season 1 was recently released on Netflix, receiving positive reviews from both audiences and critics. While the show features live-action versions of characters like Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, Roronoa Zoro, and Garp, the character Doflamingo has yet to make an appearance. A tweet from the account One Piece Tweets on Twitter has shared an image edit imagining Barbie's Ryan Gosling in the role of Doflamingo in Netflix's One Piece adaptation. Take a look at the image below:
The post requests him to portray Doflamingo in the live action version, accompanied by images of Gosling dressed as Ken, sporting Doflamingo's identifiable sunglasses. Numerous Twitter users expressed agreement with the post, as seen in the selected responses below:
"Yeahhh bro," Light ライト comments.
Rego Hurtado is evidently a fan of the casting idea, telling Gosling directly on Twitter to "do it."
"Lmao so true," rai writes in response to the image.
Ani Ulap also supports Gosling's casting, writing "Fits perfectly!!!"
"Realy [sic] looks a bit like him," Asberhug writes along with a gif of Doflamingo laughing.
Also in agreement is Anime Fandom, who replies, "Haha, It's [100%] perfect".
When Will Doflamingo Be Introduced In Netflix's One Piece?
Netflix released all 8 episodes of One Piece season 1 on August 31, but Doflamingo was noticeably absent. With the official renewal of the series for season 2, there's a chance for other characters and storylines to take the spotlight. Whether Doflamingo will make an appearance in One Piece season 2, however, is still uncertain.
Doflamingo's appearance in the manga is relatively late, and he only shows up in the anime series in episode 151. As a result, it may take some time before he makes his live-action debut. However, it is possible that One Piece season 2 will make changes to the source material for the new episodes. This could involve introducing Doflamingo earlier or at least preparing for his arrival in a potential season 3.
Doflamingo is widely considered one of the best and most memorable villains in One Piece. It is unlikely that the show's creators would want to delay his introduction too much. Netflix has a history of canceling well-received series, so it's uncertain if One Piece can maintain its popularity in future seasons. However, indications suggest that the show will continue, increasing the likelihood of viewers meeting Doflamingo sooner rather than later.
