The recent Reverie in One Piece has caused an uproar worldwide, and its aftermath has shaken the very fabric of the One Piece universe. This year's event was marred by major incidents and even resulted in a war breaking out within the Holy Land of Marijoa. Amidst all the chaos and drama that unfolded atop the Red Line in Marijoa, there was also the mysterious death of King Cobra.

King Cobra is a beloved figure among fans, particularly after the events of Arabasta. However, the reason behind his assassination remained a mystery until now. The latest chapter of One Piece has finally revealed the truth behind his death.

During the Arabasta Saga of One Piece, fans were introduced to King Cobra, the monarch of Arabasta. He was met during a time of great turmoil, as Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, was wreaking havoc in the country from behind the scenes. Despite not being responsible for the chaos, Cobra took the blame for everything and was blamed by his people for stealing their rain, causing the country to be on the brink of civil war.

Vivi, a member of the Arabasta royal family, infiltrated Baroque Works, the organization led by Crocodile, and met the Straw Hat Pirates. With their help, they defeated Crocodile and brought peace back to Arabasta. Throughout this arc, fans witnessed Cobra's unwavering devotion to his people and his just and thoughtful nature. He proved to be one of the few rulers in the world of One Piece who was truly worthy of being a King.

Even Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, recognized Cobra's exceptional leadership and devotion to his people. Cobra even hosted the Straw Hat Pirates and treated them to a feast of Heroes, demonstrating his generosity and kindness.

After the events of the Arabasta arc, King Cobra seemed to disappear from the story. However, during the Reverie arc, fans were reintroduced to the character. Following the Dressrosa arc, preparations for the Reverie were underway all across the world. King Cobra saw this as an opportunity to participate in the event, as it held great significance for him and his country of Arabasta. As the journey from Arabasta to the Holy Land of Marijoa began after the conclusion of the Whole Cake Island arc, King Cobra revealed that he had some intriguing questions for the Five Elders. These questions pertained to the previous kings of Arabasta and other mysteries that he was eager to discuss with the Elders.

Cobra played a vital role at the Reverie, particularly in the abolition of the Warlord System alongside King Riku. He had experienced firsthand the devastation caused by Warlords like Sir Crocodile in his own country, much like how Donquixote Doflamingo had ravaged Dressrosa. Thanks to Cobra's efforts, as well as those of Riku and Fujitora, a vote was held resulting in the abolition of the Warlord System. While this was a significant achievement in and of itself, it was just the beginning of Cobra's true goal at the Reverie. He had his sights set on the Five Elders.

Reverie Chaos: Unveiling the Motive Behind Cobra's Assassination

Cobra's primary objective at the Reverie was to meet with the Five Elders, and he was able to secure an audience with them. Unfortunately, his Royal Guards, Pell and Chaka, were not permitted to attend and instead were instructed to protect Princess Vivi. During his meeting with the Five Elders, Cobra revealed that he had meticulously studied the ancient texts of his country and discovered an interesting piece of information. According to these texts, shortly after the formation of the World Government, the 20 Rulers gathered together and placed their weapons in front of the Empty Throne to symbolize their equality and the absence of a true ruler.

Arabasta, a country allied with the World Government, was one of the Founding 20 that fought against the Ancient Kingdom and played a significant role in establishing the World Government. The majority of the families that made up the Founding 20 relocated to Marijoa and became Celestial Dragons. However, there was one monarch who chose not to become a Celestial Dragon and instead returned to their homeland to continue serving their people. That monarch was Queen Lily of Arabasta.

Despite her decision to remain in Arabasta, Queen Lily's reign and any records of her rule mysteriously vanished. Instead, her brother took over as the monarch of Arabasta. Cobra deduced that Queen Lily must have encountered an accident on her way back home, which led him to seek an audience with the Five Elders. Unfortunately, they were not forthcoming with any information about Queen Lily's fate and feigned ignorance.

Cobra inquired about the people of the D, as Queen Lily had written a letter about them that was passed down through generations within the royal family of Arabasta. This question shocked the Five Elders and earned Cobra their wrath. Imu, the sovereign of the world, then appeared and mentioned Queen Lily's name, indicating that they knew what had happened to her.

.

Fans were left puzzled as to why the Five Elders targeted King Cobra, but recent revelations make it abundantly clear. Firstly, the Nefertari Family is viewed as traitors for refusing to become Celestial Dragons when the World Government was established 800 years ago. Secondly, King Cobra possesses knowledge regarding Queen Lily's mysterious death and the forbidden information surrounding the D people, which is potent enough to warrant the destruction of an entire country. This gave the Five Elders the impetus to assassinate him.

However, the ultimate reason for King Cobra's demise was his sighting of Imu, the world's sovereign. Anyone who is privy to Imu's identity cannot be allowed to live, and King Cobra's fate was sealed the moment he witnessed Imu. Although he has not yet died, it is likely that he will be killed by Imu after learning the truth about Queen Lily. His murder will be pinned on Sabo, further fueling the flames of rebellion and ultimately leading to the downfall of the World Government. Despite his death, King Cobra's sacrifice will not be in vain.
