Unveiling the Epic Journey of Ahsoka: Star Wars Finally Delivers on the White Jedi Promise!

In another galaxy, Ahsoka and Sabine might discover alternative aspects of the Force, potentially leading to Ahsoka adopting completely unique ways of utilizing it and transforming into something distinct from a Jedi. This essentially rewrites the previous epilogue of Star Wars Rebels and the enigmatic metamorphosis of Ahsoka Tano (portrayed by Rosario Dawson). Nevertheless, this does not rule out the possibility of it still occurring as the new Star Wars show progresses. With their upcoming journey beyond the familiar confines of the galaxy, Ahsoka and her apprentice Sabine Wren (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) could soon encounter entirely novel approaches to tapping into the Force.

Ahsoka and Sabine, after reuniting, have decided to continue training Wren to become a Jedi. Interestingly, Ahsoka herself is no longer a Jedi. Despite leaving the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars, she has forged her own unique path and has become a hero for the Rebellion and the New Republic, straying away from the traditional teachings of the Jedi. This hints at the possibility of Ahsoka evolving into something greater than a Jedi in her new series.

Star Wars Rebels' Ending Showed Ahsoka's Future

In the final episode of Star Wars Rebels, the Jedi hero Ezra Bridger bravely sacrificed himself to defeat the powerful Imperial leader, Grand Admiral Thrawn. With the help of a group of star whales called purrgil, who were connected to Ezra through the Force, they were able to send both Ezra and Thrawn into an uncharted jump through hyperspace. This selfless act ultimately saved Ezra's homeworld of Lothal from the oppressive rule of the Empire.

After these events, the series finale included an interesting epilogue that revealed the futures of the show's main characters in the aftermath of the original Star Wars trilogy and the Empire's downfall. In this epilogue, Ahsoka is seen wearing a white cloak and wielding a mysterious staff as she returns to Lothal to meet with Sabine. Their mission is to search for Ezra, who is still missing in unknown places. However, there is no explanation provided about what happened to Ahsoka during the events of the original trilogy or the reason for her new appearance. Nonetheless, Dave Filoni, the showrunner for Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka, has referred to this particular look as "Ahsoka the White," drawing a parallel to the iconic transformation of Gandalf the Grey into Gandalf the White in The Lord of the Rings, following his battle with the monstrous Balrog in the depths of Moria.

The Ahsoka Disney+ TV Show Has Retconned Its Hero's Transformation

In Ahsoka episodes 1 and 2, Ahsoka returns to Lothal and reunites with Sabine, recreating the epilogue from Star Wars Rebels in a live-action format. However, their reunion is divided by the events of the new show's first two episodes. Notably, Ahsoka does not appear as "Ahsoka the White" in the live-action version of the epilogue sequence, but instead wears a grey cloak while wielding her two white-bladed lightsabers. Nevertheless, the concept of Ahsoka's evolution is still relevant and has not been disregarded.

This marks a significant departure from the animated series, as Ahsoka embarks on a new chapter alongside Tano and Wren, aiming to prevent Thrawn's return and bring Ezra home. However, this does not rule out the possibility of Ahsoka's mysterious transformation in the ongoing Star Wars live-action show. Given the significant revelations in Ahsoka thus far, there are strong narrative possibilities for Ahsoka to undergo a major transformation in her connection to the Force. Both Filoni and Ahsoka actress, Rosario Dawson, have alluded to a Gandalf-like transformation for Ahsoka, indicating further development to come.

Ahsoka Can Learn New Aspects Of The Force In Another Galaxy

In the show Ahsoka, it was revealed that Thrawn is located in a different galaxy. This opens up exciting possibilities for the Star Wars franchise as it goes beyond its usual boundaries. It's unclear what awaits us in this brand-new galaxy, but one speculation is that the Force itself might behave differently there. It could have a distinct nature compared to what we've seen so far in the known galaxy. This could lead to Ahsoka and Sabine discovering new ways to use the Force, which could have significant implications.

A notable aspect of Ahsoka the White in Star Wars Rebels is that she carries a staff instead of her usual lightsabers. There is evidence linking this new galaxy and the world of Peridea to the Nightsisters of Dathomir. It is possible that the Nightsisters' power, possibly channeled by Lady Morgan Elsbeth, activated the star map that leads to Thrawn. If this is the case, the Force in this other galaxy might resemble magic more than anything else. In a possible evolution, Ahsoka could even wield a wizard's staff, allowing her to use the Force in entirely new ways.

Ahsoka Is Becoming Something Very Different To A Jedi

After wandering her own uncertain path for an extended period of time, the upcoming Ahsoka series presents an ideal opportunity for Tano to finally fulfill her true destiny beyond her stint with the Jedi Order. Despite her belief that she is no longer a Jedi, it appears that Ahsoka is being prepared to become something even more unique and significant in the grand scheme of the Force. Considering all factors, exploring this new galaxy could serve as the catalyst for Ahsoka's anticipated metamorphosis, which has been hinted at for the past five years since the conclusion of Star Wars Rebels in 2018.

If Ahsoka's staff and overall development do originate from this uncharted universe, it follows that she may gain access to distinct abilities and possess a special connection to the Force. Furthermore, this undiscovered galaxy may also hold the key to unlocking Sabine's dormant Force powers, despite her limited potential in the established Star Wars realm. Regardless of the Star Wars Rebels retcon showcased in Ahsoka's two-episode premiere, there is still considerable storytelling potential to justify Ahsoka's evolution. Ahsoka's transformation into Ahsoka the White is an imperative occurrence, a profound change brought forth by the Force that will undoubtedly offer her a renewed sense of purpose and a higher calling moving forward.
