Ubisoft's highly-anticipated open-world Star Wars game, developed by Massive Entertainment, may be launching sooner than expected As one of the first projects in Lucasfilm's partnership with other triple-A companies, fans are eagerly anticipating this new adventure set in the beloved galaxy far, far away

Ubisoft's upcoming Star Wars game, developed by Massive Entertainment, may be arriving sooner than expected. Since Lucasfilm announced that it would be collaborating with other triple-A companies on new Star Wars games, fans have been eagerly anticipating this open-world title.

While there have been few official details released about the game, it is said to be vastly different from Massive's previous titles, and is currently being referred to as "Project Helix." According to reports, players will be able to explore the Star Wars galaxy using a mix of vehicles from the movies and new ones, and the game world has been compared to that of No Man's Sky. In December, playtesters were brought on board to help with the project.

According to rumors, Project Helix, Ubisoft's open-world Star Wars game, may be released next year. Although there is no official release date, sources have suggested that the game may not meet its initial goal of being released this year due to slow development progress. Despite this setback, the team remains optimistic about the game's potential success and it is expected to launch sometime between April 2024 and March 2025. Ubisoft has yet to comment on these rumors.

Ubisoft's Open World Star Wars Game Set for Sooner Release

Despite facing setbacks with several delayed releases, Ubisoft remains committed to releasing eight new games within the next year. While the publisher’s only major titles for 2022 are Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Just Dance 2023, Massive’s open-world Star Wars game could be arriving as soon as 2024, according to recent rumors. Project Helix may not be among the upcoming releases, but Star Wars gaming fans have reason to be excited thanks to last month’s release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and upcoming games like Respawn’s untitled Star Wars FPS. If all goes well, Project Helix could be a promising addition to the long-running franchise.
