The Voice season 24 contestant Huntley came out on top after a memorable run on the singing competition.
After making his debut on The Voice in October, 33-year-old Huntley quickly emerged as a top contender. His performance of the Black Crowes' song "She Talks to Angels" during his audition earned him a four-chair turn from the judges.
Niall Horan, in an effort to persuade Huntley to join his team, likened his voice to those of English singer Daniel Merriweather and James Morrison. "I bet you were singing like that when you were 15. You sing your own way, you sing very direct and [with] so much power and the control that you have. It’s so beautiful to listen to," said Niall Horan, also noting Huntley's natural resemblance to the tone of Chris Stapleton.
Gwen Stefani, another coach, also praised Huntley's talent, saying, "Your voice is just so effortless. You have a natural raspy quality that is pure and genuine. It sounds like you've been singing for years. You're just so comfortable on stage."
Reba and John Legend also praised Huntley before he ultimately chose Horan as his coach. He made it to the finale on Tuesday, December 19, performing alongside contestants Jacquie Roar, Ruby Leigh, Mara Justine, and Lila Forde.
Before winning, Huntley took a moment to appreciate the overwhelming support he had received from viewers and fans throughout the season.
“I can't believe this. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for everyone who has believed in me on this journey. This Monday, my friends and I will be putting on another live show to display all the hard work we've been putting in,” he shared on Instagram on Sunday, December 17. “While someone will be declared the winner, all of us have been striving to create genuine moments of artistry, and the support from all over has meant the world to us.”
Huntley expressed, "The contestants, aged 13 to 50, come from diverse backgrounds. It has been a unifying experience and we have all grown from it. I am grateful to The Voice for bringing us together." Keep scrolling to discover more about Huntley after his victory on The Voice.
