Reba McEntire Clears Up Wedding Speculations: The Ring is Just a Discovery!

Reba McEntire doesn’t plan on walking down the aisle with boyfriend Rex Linn any time soon.
Country star Reba McEntire, 68, created speculation about her engagement when she was seen wearing a stunning ring on her left finger at The Voice red carpet event on December 4. When asked about the jewelry, she replied, "I just found it. I told my brand manager, Leslie Matthews, 'I'm going to wear something here so everyone will talk about it.'"
After being asked by Entertainment Tonight's Cassie DiLaura about wedding plans, McEntire clarified that she is not planning to tie the knot anytime soon. She responded, "Yes, you are" when DiLaura asked if she was the only one currently planning to get married.
McEntire accessorized her red carpet look on Monday with a diamond ring, pairing it with a royal blue cardigan, white shirt, black pants, sparkly cowboy boots and a silver necklace. Later that night, for The Voice Live Top 12 Performances episode, she opted for a pink bedazzled pantsuit with sequin fringe, along with layers of silver necklace and stud earrings, ditching the ring. Previously married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015, McEntire, 67, began dating Linn in 2020.
McEntire and Linn first crossed paths while filming the 1991 movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw and remained in contact over the years. "We immediately connected over our shared Oklahoma roots, passion for horses, and love for acting," she wrote in her book, Not That Fancy, which was released in October. "He always brought a smile to my face, and we became great friends."

The two reconnected in January 2020 and continued to grow close following the death of McEntire’s mother, Jacqueline, that March.
During an episode of her “Living & Learning” podcast in October 2020, she revealed, "We’ve been having discussions about our past, our families, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. He’s very into my music, I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny and very smart, and is interested in me too."

The couple has appeared on screen together as husband and wife in season 3 of ABC's Big Sky.
In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, McEntire spoke about the possibility of getting married a third time. She stated, "That would be up to him. I've been married twice, he's never been married. So, if he wants to, that's totally up to him."
