Blake Shelton is opening up about life after The Voice.

During the November 17 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Shelton, aged 47, openly admitted that he is currently relishing his break after stepping away from the reality singing competition earlier this year. When questioned about his sentiments towards his coaching role, Shelton responded with a nonchalant, "Not yet," elaborating further by acknowledging that he had been a part of the show for a staggering 23 seasons.

The country singer, who joined The Voice in its inaugural season in 2011, confessed that he had initially intended to leave earlier. However, his plans were thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"To be completely honest, I hadn't intended to stay on the show for such a long time," he admitted. "My original plan was to wrap things up after around 20 or 21 seasons. But once COVID hit, I didn't want to abandon the show in the midst of the chaos. I didn't have any other commitments at the time, so I decided to stay on a little longer. However, now that I've stayed for so long, I can assure you that I don't miss it at all."

Shelton disclosed that he had acquired a significant memento to honor his tenure on The Voice: the iconic red chair.

"I received my very own chair," he stated. "Aside from a substantial sum of money, this was the one item I fervently desired to bring back home from The Voice, and they graciously sent it to Oklahoma."

Shelton humorously mentioned that The Voice played a significant role in transforming his life, particularly through his relationship with Gwen Stefani. They first crossed paths during the show's production in 2014.

When discussing his life with Stefani, who is currently a coach on the 24th season, Shelton emphasized the impact of The Voice. He expressed how the show not only shaped his career in country music but also brought about numerous positive changes. He humorously compared their blended family to The Brady Bunch.

Shelton and Stefani got married in 2021, making him a stepfather to Stefani's three sons from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale - Kingston (17), Zuma (15), and Apollo (10). Since Shelton has been taking time away from The Voice, he has been able to spend more quality time bonding with the kids.

According to an exclusive source in September, the flexibility in Shelton's schedule has provided a sense of relief. Seeing him in a relaxed and family-oriented state is truly heartwarming for Stefani and serves as a reminder of what a great catch he is.
