Honkai: Star Rail has released an official trailer showcasing Blade, a highly popular Wind user and one of their upcoming five-star characters. Blade has previously made appearances as an NPC in version 1.0. In their efforts to expand the playable roster, the game consistently introduces new five-star and four-star units with each update.
In Phase 2 of the ongoing banner, two fresh characters have been added: Luocha, a five-star character, and Yugong, a four-star unit. Both of them possess the same combat type, known as Imaginary. The banner featuring these characters is set to conclude on July 18, and Honkai: Star Rail has been gradually unveiling the next set of characters to replace them.
Honkai: Star Rail's official YouTube channel has released a new trailer titled "Death Approaches," serving as a promotional video for the highly anticipated five-star character, Blade. Making his first appearance in version 1.0, Blade has captured the attention of the community with his mysterious background. Players eagerly await the upcoming storyline to unravel his lore further. In terms of gameplay, Blade is expected to excel as a main DPS character, complementing various team compositions.
As a character following the path of Destruction, Blade brings a high-risk, high-reward dynamic to the game. While his play style offers flexibility, players should strategically surround him with a capable support team. Blade's kit is designed around dealing significant damage and providing essential self-healing for sustained battles. His unique skill allows him to enter the Hellscape state, consuming 30% of his maximum HP but granting powerful damage bonuses.
During the activation of Hellscape, Blade's Basic Attacks will now consume an additional 10% of his maximum HP. These attacks will also deal single-target damage that scales with Blade's Attack and maximum HP stats. However, the damage dealt to adjacent enemies will be reduced. In regards to Blade's Ultimate, Death Sentence, it will instantly reduce Blade's health to 50% of his maximum HP. Additionally, Death Sentence will also inflict a significant amount of Wind damage to a single enemy, which is comparable to the scaling of Blade's basic Hellscape attacks. Many fans have advised new and inexperienced players to refrain from summoning Blade, as his abilities heavily rely on managing HP and utility. Instead, it may be wise for players to wait for the second part of the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail version 1.2, where they can summon Kafka, a five-star character.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
