Summary
Ahsoka's new trailer reveals previously unseen footage, raising the stakes for the Disney+ Star Wars show.
Ahsoka and her allies confront an assortment of adversaries, such as Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Morgan Elsbeth, and the enigmatic Inquisitor Marrok.
However, the primary antagonist in this battle is Grand Admiral Thrawn, and it is imperative that Ahsoka and her allies unite to prevent the resurgence of the dark side.
A new Ahsoka trailer has unveiled never-before-seen footage, taking the stakes to a higher level than any previous Star Wars Disney+ show. While characters like Din Djarin and Grogu faced challenges in The Mandalorian, it was contained enough to not significantly impact the larger galaxy. Obi-Wan Kenobi showcased the struggles of the Jedi Master and the Skywalker twins, but their survival and secrets were already known.
The official Star Wars YouTube channel released a TV spot, presenting the new Ahsoka footage that showcases various threats faced by the heroes. Baylan Skoll, a survivor of Order 66, holds authority and warns that Ahsoka, one of the few remaining Jedi, is likely going after Thrawn. Ahsoka, accompanied by Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla, encounters Marrok the Inquisitor in two different locations, engaging in battles.
Ahsoka Is Changing The Game With New Threats
In contrast to previous Disney+ Star Wars shows, Ahsoka will face a multitude of villains who are determined to thwart her efforts in stopping a major threat from emerging. Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati bring a unique dynamic to the power structure as dark side Force users who can potentially level the playing field. Morgan Elsbeth's return, utilizing magic, strongly hints at her background as a former Nightsister of Dathomir. The enigmatic Inquisitor Marrok has been a subject of speculation due to his ability to outlive his fellow foes. And at the pinnacle of this hierarchy stands Grand Admiral Thrawn, the ultimate and most formidable antagonist in this conflict.
The fact that the odds appear to be heavily stacked against Ahsoka and her allies, with only a single glimpse of Thrawn revealed in promotional material, is truly remarkable. However, the objective they are striving to achieve extends beyond merely thwarting Thrawn's return. It is clear that the Chiss harbors a sinister agenda or may even serve as a diversion for something far worse. Ahsoka Tano and her devoted allies from the Ghost crew must join forces and combine their efforts if they have any hope of halting the resurgent dark side in Ahsoka.
Episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka release Wednesday, August 23 on Disney+.
