Although an exact number wasn't given, according to How Long to Beat, it takes most people an average of 5.5 hours to complete the Mortal Kombat X story, while the Mortal Kombat 11 story spans about six hours. Players who also engage in the Aftermath expansion for Mortal Kombat 11 should expect the full story to take a few additional hours. The storyline of Mortal Kombat 1 unfolds in the newly created universe by Fire God Liu Kang following the events of the Aftermath expansion. This rebooted timeline shares several similarities with the previous one, but it also introduces significant differences, including altered relationships, tweaked personalities, and even changed identities for certain characters.
