Transferring Conkeldurr to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet with Pokemon HOME

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's new Kitakami area, players can now access the Teal Mask DLC to encounter Timburr, Gurdurr, and Conkeldurr. Similar to Pokemon Sword/Shield, Kitakami introduces a fresh Pokedex for players to complete, which requires registering the Timburr-line to fill in the pages.

While it's relatively easy to evolve Timburr, Scarlet/Violet players may encounter difficulties evolving Gurdurr into Conkeldurr. Trade-evolving has always been a feature in Pokemon games, so it's no surprise to see it continue across generations. Unfortunately, Gurdurr is just one of many Pokemon that require trading to evolve, posing a potential challenge for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet trainers aiming to complete the Kitakami Dex.

How to Get Timburr & Gurdurr

Players can find Timburr in three areas of Kitakami:

Mossfell Confluence (other side of the river)

Oni Mountain (before Infernal Pass)

Paradise Barrens

Located north, close to Paradise Barrens, Wisftul Fields is a suitable spot to come across Gurdurr. Although less common compared to its previous stage of evolution, players may also encounter Gurdurr in the Mossfell Confluence area. For those in search of the Syrupy Apple to evolve Applin into Dipplin, visiting the shed where it is available for purchase occasionally reveals the presence of a Gurdurr in the vicinity.

The levels of Timburr and Gurdurr are determined by the player's progress in Scarlet/Violet's main story. Timburr can be encountered at levels 19-25 or level 60, while Gurdurr can be found at level 25 or level 68. If players have finished all three storylines, including "The Way Home", the levels of these Pokémon will be in the level-60s range.

Additionally, Timburr can be found in 2-star Tera Raids and Gurdurr can be encountered in 3-star Tera Raids.

After the Scarlet/Violet storyline, if players catch a Timburr, its level will already be well above 25. To evolve it into Gurdurr, simply raise its level once more through battles, auto-battles, or by using Exp. Candy/Rare Candy.

Once Gurdurr has evolved, the next step is to evolve it into Conkeldurr. Players can achieve this by trading Gurdurr with another trainer. However, online services for trading require a Nintendo Online Membership (Individual or Family). The cost of an individual membership subscription starts at $3.99 per month, or $19.99 for a year. For players considering the Family Membership option, the price is $34.99 per year.

To trade Pokemon, players need to do the following:

Get the Individual (or Family) Online Membership.

Open up Scarlet/Violet, and select Poke Portal from the pause menu (X-button).

Select Link Trade, and input a Link Code, or set up a Link Code.

Since players will want to acquire Conkeldurr in order for it to be registered in their Dex, it is advisable to establish a Link Code and share it with a friend. By exchanging Gurdurrs, both parties can obtain Conkeldurr.

For players without an online membership or trading partner, a viable alternative to obtaining Conkeldurr is by utilizing Pokemon HOME and Pokemon Sword & Shield. Within the Sword & Shield game, there exists a Wanderer Conkeldurr situated beyond the bridge, specifically at the picturesque Motostoke Riverbank within the expansive Wild Area. This Conkeldurr will emerge adjacent to the tree that stands alongside the initial brick wall or bridge, distinct from the secondary one proximate to the Nursery.

Navigate to the System Settings option on the home screen of your Switch console.

Scroll down to System and select it with A-button.

Scroll down to Date and Time.

If the Synchronize Clock via Internet is On, switch it to Off.

If the Synchronizing is Off, then players will be able to manually put in a Date and Time for the Switch.

Change the date to 07/20/2020, 06/19/2020, or 11/13/2019 (US timezones).

Go into Pokemon Sword, and fly to the Motorstoke Riverbank to see if the weather is normal/clear.

Conkleldurr can be found near the brick bridge/wall. In case it doesn't show up, try adjusting the date/time. The level of this Pokemon will either be 55 or 60, depending on whether players have finished the main story of Sword/Shield.

Additionally, Conkeldurr is present in the 5/6-star Tera Raids (Kitakami only) in Scarlet/Violet.

Once the Conkeldurr is caught in Sword/Shield, place it in a PC Box and save the game.

Go into the home screen and select Pokemon HOME.

Open Sword or Shield in HOME and transfer the Conkeldurr from the PC Box to one of the Basic Boxes. Save and exit the game.

Next, open Scarlet or Violet and relocate the Conkeldurr from the Basic Box to one of Scarlet/Violet's PC Boxes. Save and exit to officially add its entry to the Kitakami Pokedex.

Players have the option to capture Timburr or Gurdurr in Pokemon GO, evolve them, and subsequently transfer them to HOME using GO's settings. This can be done by accessing the Connected Devices and Services section in the Settings menu. As long as the player's Pokemon GO account is linked to Pokemon HOME, they can choose which Pokemon to send to HOME, as long as they possess Transfer Energy. Furthermore, the Pokemon from GO can be transferred to the HOME version on the Nintendo Switch.

Additionally, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet can be played on the Nintendo Switch platform.
