Tears of the Kingdom's crafting mechanics have inspired players to create impressive devices, such as a mechanical version of Hestu.
The game features the Ultrahand ability, enabling players to lift and attach objects, as well as Zonai devices that can be combined to construct different objects. Player eii-Naisi utilized boulders, shields, hover stones, and various items to craft a theme park-esque animatronic rendition of Hestu, complete with flailing arms and time bomb maracas.
One player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has successfully created a mechanical version of Hestu within the game. Tears of the Kingdom pleasantly surprised many players with its extensive crafting mechanics, which have proven to spark the creativity of numerous individuals. This newfound creativity is made possible by the introduction of unique tools in the series. The first tool is the Ultrahand ability, which Link obtains early on in the game and plays a crucial role throughout the entire gaming experience. With this ability, Link has the power to lift and attach virtually any object in the game. This feature becomes particularly useful when combined with other creative tools, such as the Zonai devices. These devices consist of various individual parts, remnants of an ancient and enigmatic civilization, which players can combine to construct exciting creations like cars, mechs, or planes.
Recently, a Zelda fan named eii-Naisi demonstrated the use of Zonai devices to construct a mechanical replica of Hestu, the large dancing Korok who enhances Link's inventory space in exchange for Korok Seeds. This Reddit user shared a video showcasing their robotic creation in the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, where fans of the game's building mechanics display their innovative designs.
Although eii-Naisi's version of Hestu is not as mobile as some accomplished Tears of the Kingdom players have constructed, it remains impressive. They utilized a boulder as the body and incorporated Royal Shields as the legs. To mimic the tree-top appearance on Hestu's head, eii-Naisi ingeniously combined a pair of Zonai Hover Stones and positioned them in the same configuration as Hestu's "hair." The face is composed of a Korok Leaf and a Blue Moblin Horn. The most noteworthy aspect of the Hestu machine is the flailing arms, which showcase exceptional creativity. Each arm consists of a fan as the base, topped with a Zonai cooking pot, and finally a Zonai Construct Head. To replicate Hestu's distinctive maracas, eii-Naisi adorned the arms with Zonai Time Bombs.
