Unleashing Daruk's Legacy: Boulder Breaker Quest & Value in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Discover the lasting impact of Champion Daruk on the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom through his iconic weapon Uncover the benefits and challenges of obtaining the coveted Boulder Breaker through completing sidequests and continue the legacy of the four Champions from Breath of the Wild

The legacy of the four Champions from Breath of the Wild continues in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as evidenced by the Sages who assist Link and the weapons left behind by the Champions, which can be obtained through completing sidequests. Daruk, one of the four Champions and a member of the Goron tribe, wielded a powerful two-handed weapon known as the Boulder Breaker. Players can obtain their own Boulder Breaker in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by completing a side quest located in Goron City.

Players must complete the main quest "Yunobo of Goron City" before obtaining the Boulder Breaker. The quest takes place in and around Goron City. Following the resolution of the Marbled Rock Roast crisis, players can speak with a blacksmith and their apprentice in Goron City to initiate the Boulder Breaker quest.

During a conversation about Fugo's apprenticeship, Rohan the Blacksmith expresses frustration with Fugo for abandoning him during the Marbled Rock Roast incident. Fugo, seeking to prove himself, wishes to complete the Boulder Breaker he was working on before the crisis occurred.

Regrettably, Fugo has overspent on Marbled Rock Roast and is now short on the necessary materials to complete the Boulder Breaker. He requires a Cobble Crusher, 5 Flint, and 3 Diamonds to finish the project. Luckily, these items can be easily located in the surrounding areas of Death Mountain and Goron City.

Cobble Crushers are readily available in chests scattered throughout Death Mountain. However, for a guaranteed drop, take down the Boss Bokoblin located in the depths near Gorondia. This formidable foe and its companions can be spotted patrolling south of Misisi Lightroot (Coordinates: 1842, 2842, -0838). Defeat it to acquire the coveted Cobble Crusher.

Flint is easily obtained by smashing ore deposits found throughout the world. However, obtaining diamonds is a bit more challenging as they are a rare drop from ore deposits that have a golden glitter. Alternatively, players can purchase diamonds for a steep price of 1000 Rupees each in Goron City if they have the funds available.

Once all the necessary components have been collected, players can simply hand them over to Fugo in exchange for the Boulder Breaker.

Can you repair the Boulder Breaker?

After Link obtains the Boulder Breaker, Fugo can help him create a new one with the same materials should it break in battle. However, some players may opt to repair the weapon when it begins to wear down by utilizing Octorocks to their advantage.

The question remains: is the Boulder Breaker truly worth the investment?

The Boulder Breaker, one of the Champion Weapons, can pose a challenge when it comes to using it effectively since it has a tendency to wear out quickly. However, it does make for an excellent mining tool and boasts the same stats as the Fierce Deity Sword.

While it may not be the most practical weapon to wield, it can still be useful when paired with Fuse and the Octorock repair trick to address its durability concerns.

If you're looking to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it's currently available on the Nintendo Switch.
