Fans of Southern Charm believed that Shep Rose may have finally found his perfect match when he introduced Taylor Ann Green to viewers in season 7. However, their relationship ultimately did not stand the test of time.
"We were in the early stages of dating, experiencing that blissful honeymoon phase," Rose shared exclusively with us in June 2022, right before season 8 premiered. This season marked Green's first full appearance on the show. "Initially, we were off to the side, immersed in our own little world, making each other laugh. But now, she has fully integrated herself into the show and has become much closer with everyone. She has truly flourished in this environment."
Despite encountering some obstacles in season 8, Rose and Green were still going strong at the end of filming. When asked about a potential engagement, Green stated, "I am leaning towards that direction. Let's just say we have started discussing it."
However, just one month later, the couple decided to end their relationship. A source confirmed in July 2022 that they have officially broken up.

Southern Charm fans had high hopes for Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green, thinking that they could be a perfect match. However, their relationship ended up being short-lived. In an exclusive interview with We in June 2022, just before season 8, Rose revealed that they had initially enjoyed a honeymoon-like phase when they first started dating. They would spend time together, making each other laugh, and staying in their own little bubble. However, now that Green has become a full-fledged member of the show and has formed stronger friendships with the other cast members, she has truly come into her own and flourished.
Despite encountering a few challenges during season 8, Rose and Green were still going strong at the end of filming. In regards to a potential engagement, Green stated, "I am heading in that direction. We have actually started discussing it."
However, one month later, the couple decided to end their relationship, as confirmed by a source who informed Us in July 2022 that they had called it quits.

During the season 7 reunion, Rose admitted that he cheated on Green.
“I kissed a girl in a stairwell — and that’s all it was. … It was an old flame and we were texting like, ‘Ooh, tomorrow night,’ and nothing ever came of it. It was a moment of weakness. I was drinking. But that’s all it was, and I’ll go to my grave knowing that that’s true,” said the RelationShep alum. “She goes, ‘Look, I hate what happened, and it hurt me a lot. However, I’d like to stay with you. I’m in love with you. You make me happy.’ We cried, and it was a big deal.”

During the season 8 reunion special, which was filmed in September and aired in October, Green confronted her ex-boyfriend for allegedly engaging in sexual relationships with numerous women shortly after their breakup. She expressed her distress, stating, "We were together for two and a half years, and now you've supposedly slept with over 300 women. You went out, partied, and now you've implicated me as one of the many women you've been intimate with. I feel reduced to just a number, and it has deeply affected me emotionally." Green went on to express her anguish, saying, "I was merely the longest-lasting woman, seen as nothing more than a promiscuous individual." Rose responded, acknowledging Green's feelings by saying, "I apologize for making you feel that way."

Fans started to ship Austen Kroll and the clinical assistant after offering support to Green during the reunion of season 8. However, Kroll made it clear that he would never violate the bro code by pursuing a romantic relationship with Green. He emphasized that he and Rose have a strong friendship and he values it greatly.
While expressing his affection for Green, Kroll emphasized the importance of their friendship and the depth of their connection. He mentioned their frequent conversations about their recent breakups and stated his intentions to preserve their bond.

Despite consistently denying any romantic connection, Kroll eventually admitted during a season 9 episode of Southern Charm, which was recorded in the new year and aired in fall 2023, that he had "kissed" Green in the autumn of 2022.
"I ended my relationship with her, and during that difficult time, you provided me with emotional support. I value our friendship immensely, and I don't want to lose it, my friend," Rose disclosed to Kroll in the episode after Kroll finally confessed. Additionally, Rose decided to disregard the scandal and actively work towards repairing her friendship with Green after their tumultuous breakup.

Rose spoke exclusively to Us at BravoCon 2023, sharing how she introduced Green to the world of reality TV and took her to new geographic locations. The experience brought Rose immense pride and happiness, as it filled her with joy.
Reflecting on their breakup, Rose likened it to being thrown into a fast-moving river or the deep end of a pool, where Green struggled to find stability and faced worsening circumstances. Despite the challenges, Rose expressed empathy for Green and vowed to support her whenever needed.
Regarding Green's feelings about Rose moving on romantically, he expressed to Us that he is supportive of her happiness. On the other hand, Green mentioned exclusively to Us that he is currently dating someone new named Gaston. Rose acknowledged that she is not acquainted with Gaston yet and that her emotions are still fresh. However, she emphasized that she intends to live her life, just as Green is doing.
