Craig Conover shared an interesting fact on his podcast "Pillows and Beer" about spending Easter Sunday with Sofia Vergara. The reason behind this unlikely encounter was because his Southern Charm co-star, Whitney Sudler-Smith, is related to Vergara's ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb. This revelation came about as Conover discussed Vergara's recent split from Joe Manganiello. It was confirmed that Manganiello, 46, filed for legal separation from the Modern Family actress, 51, on July 19, with July 2 listed as the date of their separation.

"I don't quite get the whole Sofia Vergara situation, but I do recall the time when she was dating Whitney's cousin and we all celebrated Easter at Whitney's place," Conover, 36, shared with Kroll.

While Conover didn't specifically mention the name of "Whitney's cousin," he was alluding to Loeb, 47, who proposed to Vergara in 2012 after two years of being together. (According to FITS News, the Easter gathering occurred in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2013.)

Loeb and Vergara ended their relationship in 2014, but continued to engage in a lengthy legal battle over the custody rights of their frozen pre-embryos. These pre-embryos were created during their in-vitro fertilization process in 2013. After seven years, in 2021, Vergara, who already had an adult son named Manolo, successfully won the case, preventing Loeb from using the pre-embryos to have a child. At the time, Vergara had been married to Manganiello for six years. On the podcast "Pillows and Beer," Kroll expressed his sadness regarding Vergara and Manganiello's decision to end their relationship.

"They appeared incredibly adorable, like, exceptionally compatible ... and now you speed up and they're going through a divorce. And I can't help but wonder, is anyone immune? Is anyone safe in this world?" Kroll expressed. "I genuinely believed they were the most adorable couple, completely infatuated with each other, and that they would stay that way. And now they're getting divorced? It's truly disheartening."

Regarding their separation, Vergara and Manganiello released a statement on July 17.

"We have reached the difficult choice to end our marriage. As two individuals who deeply love and care for each other, we kindly request privacy during this transition as we embark on a new chapter in our lives," the actors expressed.

According to an exclusive source, the couple had been unhappy and residing separately for several months prior to their separation. Despite their mutual decision to go their separate ways, each ex-partner is now navigating their own post-split journey.

According to an insider from Us, Sofia's friends are supporting her during this time, and they wouldn't be surprised if she is ready to start dating again. However, Manganiello is in no rush to enter a new relationship.
