Multiple duplication glitches have been found in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, allowing players to duplicate items and weapons.
Two Hylian Shields were found in the player's inventory without any intentional use of glitches. The glitch appears to only be present in version 1.1.2 of the game, and any remaining bugs and exploits may be resolved in future updates.
A Zelda fan recently made an unexpected discovery in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. They found not one, but two Hylian Shields in Link's inventory. This is particularly puzzling because the player claims to have not intentionally used any duplication glitches.
Soon after the game's launch on May 12, multiple duplication glitches were found by players. One method involves exploiting the Recall ability and Octorok enemies to duplicate weapons and shields. Despite Nintendo's efforts to fix these glitches with updates, the community remains determined to uncover new ways to duplicate items, earn more Rupees, and make their journey across Hyrule more convenient.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player MarieTherese11 was perplexed when they discovered two Hylian Shields in Link's inventory. They came across the duplicate shield after trading Korok Seeds with Hestu and expanding Link's shield inventory. MarieTherese11, who had never utilized a duplication glitch before, also equipped the Froggy Armor and organized their shields in the inventory menu. Once this duplication was realized, fellow players in the Zelda community began speculating about other undiscovered glitches in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
MarieTherese11 confirms that this glitch occurred while playing version 1.1.2 of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, instead of the most recent update, version 1.2.0. Nintendo released version 1.1.2 on May 25 to address various bugs and glitches that were identified shortly after the game's launch, but many duplication bugs still function in both versions 1.1.2 and 1.2.0. Some players, like Reddit user Moblin_Chef, are encouraging fans who are still playing version 1.1.2 to find a glitch that successfully duplicates the Hylian Shield.
Under normal circumstances, Link can only carry one Hylian Shield at a time. However, a glitch has been discovered that allows for the duplication of multiple Hylian Shields. This discovery could have a significant impact on the Zelda community. It is important to note that this glitch may only be applicable to version 1.1.2, therefore players of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may not be able to utilize it with the current version.
As of now, there is no announcement regarding new DLC for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The latest update for the game is version 1.2.0. If Nintendo plans to develop DLC for the game, it is likely that they will release additional updates to address any bugs or exploits. Given the community's dedication to uncovering new duplication glitches, it is possible that more discoveries will be made before Nintendo is able to identify and resolve them.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
