Unlocking the Inn in Kakariko Village - Zelda's Tears of the Kingdom Side Quest
Discovering the Kakariko Village Innkeeper's whereabouts in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a challenging side quest that must be completed in order to utilize the inn's beds The innkeeper is nowhere to be found, making it impossible to rest and recover before continuing Link's journey throughout Hyrule
There are several towns scattered throughout Hyrule where Link can rest at an inn and recharge before continuing on his journey in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, upon arriving at Kakariko Village, players will discover that the innkeeper is missing, making it impossible to sleep at the inn.
This guide is designed to assist players in locating the missing innkeeper and returning him to his workplace so that they can complete the Out of the Inn side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Where To Find the Inn Shopkeeper
Upon starting the Out of the Inn side quest in Tears of the Kingdom, players must first make their way to the Kakariko Village inn and speak to Dai, a seemingly ordinary clerk stationed behind the counter. However, it soon becomes clear that Dai is not actually an employee of the inn, but rather a temporary stand-in while the owner is away. After waiting for an extended period of time, he enlists Link's help in locating and bringing back the innkeeper, thus initiating the Out of the Inn side quest and adding it to the player's Adventure Log.
The innkeeper, Ollie, can be found in a highly unexpected location: a Zonai Survey site that overlooks Lantern Lake, situated north of Paya's residence. Ollie can be found sleeping on one of the Stone Slabs retrieved from the Ring Ruins. The precise coordinates for his location are 1736, -0902, 0199.
To rouse the slumbering Ollie, players must obtain a Hearty Truffle and place it beside him. It appears that Ollie has been incessantly murmuring about these delectable treats while he snoozes. For those in search of the coveted ingredient, Hearty Truffles can be found in various locations throughout the land.
As per the Hyrule Compendium, the most frequent spots to find Hearty Truffles are Hyrule Field and West Necluda. Luckily, gamers can easily obtain a few Hearty Truffles from a nearby location.
Gordi suggests that Link check the eastern side of the village near the waterfall, where he spotted a Hearty Truffle that may have drifted from a nearby location. For a fast Hearty Truffle hunt, players can head to the brink of the waterfall and enter the Kakariko Village Cave. Here, they can gather several Hearty Truffles to bring back to Ollie.
