Tristan Thompson’s ex Jordan Craig claims that the basketball star owes her thousands of dollars in child support.
Documents obtained by the Daily Mail on October 23 revealed that Craig, aged 32, recently submitted a declaration to a Los Angeles court. In the declaration, Craig stated that Thompson, also 32, has consistently failed to make full child support payments or even make them at all since November 2022.
As reported by the outlet, Craig, who is the mother of Thompson's 6-year-old son, Prince, is now seeking legal action to have Thompson's monthly income from the Cleveland Cavaliers, which amounts to $80,000, withheld by the court. This measure is intended to remain in effect until all outstanding payments are made.
The declaration asserts that Tristan signed a Cavaliers' contract known as the 'veteran's minimum,' which entitles him to receive $2.7 million annually. It further states that the requested amount of $80,000 is significantly less than half of his monthly salary. We have contacted Thompson's team for their response.
Jordan's sister, Kai Craig, recently accused Thompson of neglecting his parental responsibilities towards Prince. Thompson is also a father to True, aged 5, and Tatum, aged 15 months, whom he shares with Khloé Kardashian, as well as Theo, aged 22 months, with Maralee Nichols.
On October 5, Kai, aged 35, expressed her frustration on Instagram, stating, "I have refrained from speaking up for over 7 years out of respect for my sister's privacy, but this is just too much. It is heart-wrenching to witness Tristan prioritize others and neglect his own son, Prince. Despite living in the same city, he never spends time with or communicates with his son unless it's for a public event or planned photo opportunity. This behavior is both disappointing and inexcusable."
Kai's comments followed Kim Kardashian's praise of Thompson on an episode of The Kardashians. Despite his repeated infidelity during their relationship, Kim, 43, acknowledged Thompson as a good friend and father, expressing her conflicting feelings about his inability to remain faithful.
Kim expressed that Thompson has been an exceptional individual and a dependable friend, recently showing great support for her four children: North (10), Saint (7), Chicago (5), and Psalm (4). Kim even mentioned that Thompson assisted in picking up the kids from school and attended numerous basketball games.
However, in contrast to Kim's statements, Kai stated that Thompson has failed to provide child support for Jordan and Prince's school tuition for an extended period of time.
"Being a responsible parent goes beyond financial support; it involves investing time," Kai stated emphatically. "Tristan, you cannot claim to be a good father if you neglect any of your children."
Thompson has faced previous controversies concerning child support. In December 2021, Nichols took him to court for child support, prompting a paternity test. The test confirmed not only his biological relationship with Theo but also his extramarital affair with Nichols while he was still in a relationship with Khloé. As a result, he publicly apologized to the Kardashian star.
