Drawing Parallels: Kris Jenner's Past Infidelity and Tristan Thompson's Recent Betrayal

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner, despite Tristan Thompson's infidelity, expressed empathy towards him based on her own experience of having an affair during her marriage to the late Robert Kardashian. Kris, who is 67 years old, shared how her personal encounter with infidelity helped her understand and connect with her daughter Khloé Kardashian's journey, filled with highs and lows, alongside Tristan, who is 32 years old.

"What will you feel if he moves on? How will you react to that?" Kris inquired, expressing her concerns in a confessional. She pondered, "Will she regret not reconciling with him?"

In the meantime, Khloé, aged 39, redirected the topic towards Kris' own personal life.

"What was going through your mind when you were unfaithful? At that time, you had a family with four children, including me. I understand that you were young, which played a significant role," expressed the cofounder of Good American. "But what was lacking in my dad that led you to seek companionship elsewhere?"

Kris and Robert, who were parents to Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob, were married from 1978 to 1991. After their separation, Kris found love with Caitlyn Jenner and they had daughters Kendall and Kylie. Sadly, Robert passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer at the age of 59.

In her 2001 memoir, "Kris Jenner ... and All Things Kardashian," the momager disclosed that she had engaged in an extramarital relationship with a soccer player before separating from Robert. Kris further delved into the reasons behind her unfaithfulness during a recent episode of the Hulu reality series. She attributed her actions to youthful naivety, as she failed to fully grasp the consequences. Recognizing her former husband's exemplary qualities as a spouse and father, Kris admitted that she found herself drawn to a misconception that the grass would be greener elsewhere. She acknowledged that this was a grave mistake and considers it the greatest regret of her life.

Kris has since come to terms with her mistakes.

"I'm not particularly proud of my behavior during that period, but I firmly believe that everything occurs for a purpose. I genuinely live my life with the conviction that God has a plan," she added. "Had that entire situation not unfolded, Kendall and Kylie would never have come into existence."

In the midst of the sincere discussion, Kris reminisced about how her connection with Robert deepened following their divorce.

"Following the breakup, Robert and I forged a deep bond, becoming each other's closest companions. We spent endless hours conversing on the phone, offering unwavering support and guidance to one another. As I reflected, regret washed over me and I couldn't help but think, 'What was I thinking?' Hence, I wholeheartedly urge Khloé to exercise caution when making her own choices and to be willing to let go when necessary."

As Khloé endured her own struggles with Tristan's unfaithfulness, Kris shared her perspective. The couple, who share two children, True and Tatum, embarked on a turbulent on-and-off relationship in 2016, enduring multiple instances of cheating. However, last year marked their definitive separation. Tristan welcomed a son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols in December 2022 while simultaneously preparing for the arrival of Tatum via a surrogate with Khloé.

Khloé, while co-parenting with her exes, revealed that she isn't actively seeking a new partner. She firmly believes that her children are her source of happiness and priority in life. During a conversation with Kris, Khloé expressed that she always prioritizes her partner when in a relationship, but now her sole focus is on her kids. Recognizing the fleeting nature of childhood, Khloé emphasized her pride in devoting herself to her children.

Khloé expressed that she is not focused on finding a life partner and prefers to simply enjoy her life. She mentioned that if she happens to meet someone, it would be a bonus, but it is not her main priority at the moment. She emphasized that she does not want the added responsibility of being in a relationship and asks for some time to herself.

During a confessional, Kris commended Khloé for her approach in handling situations differently from herself. She acknowledged and appreciated Khloé's decision to take her time, finding it impressive. Kris understands Khloé's current mindset and believes it to be a healthy place. She describes Khloé as one of the strongest individuals she has ever encountered.

Kris wasn't the sole individual with uncertainties about Khloé and Tristan's current status. Corey Gamble, Khloé's boyfriend, also expressed optimism for their future.

"You truly deserve the title of daddy of the year. You certainly deserve the accolade for being the best father," said Corey, 42, during the show. "The positivity you bring into the house is palpable, especially with the kids and everything happening. It's clear that your home will flourish, leaving Khloé in tears. This is a positive outcome for everyone involved."

Khloé reiterated that she isn’t focused on outside opinions when it comes to her dating life.

"My admiration for my mother knows no bounds, especially when it comes to her extraordinary capacity for forgiveness. It's something that runs in our family, but as a mother herself, it truly shines through," she confided in Malika Haqq during their lunch conversation. "If anyone were to harm my daughter in the same way Tristan did, I would undoubtedly take strong action and confront them without hesitation."

To Malika's surprise, Khloé revealed that she no longer feels any attraction towards Tristan.

"In an ideal scenario, I long for a married life wherein we form our own family unit. This desire is shared by many individuals. However, I must confess that I lack an attraction towards Tristan," she acknowledged. "I am fully aware of his striking appearance and undeniable handsomeness. Tristan is undeniably a captivating being. I am not oblivious to his charm, but the thought of kissing him on the lips does not even cross my mind. Such actions do not align with my personal inclinations."
