The Big Picture
Tristan Thompson's parenting abilities have been defended by Kim Kardashian on Hulu's The Kardashians, despite his track record of cheating scandals, paternity conflicts, and child support lawsuits.
Khloé Kardashian forgave and reconciled with Tristan despite his infidelity. However, he continued his unfaithful actions with fitness model Maralee Nichols while he was still engaged to Khloé. Furthermore, he denied being the father of their child and even filed an amended petition in court.
Thompson's ex-partner, Jordan Craig, who is also the mother of his first son, Prince, has provided court documents stating that he has not been consistent in paying child support. She claims that he owes a substantial amount of $224,000, which contradicts the Kardashians' portrayal of him as a "good father."
NBA player Tristan Thompson received support from reality star Kim Kardashian on Hulu's The Kardashians, where she defended his parenting skills. Thompson has faced controversy and media attention due to his involvement with the Kardashians, particularly Khloé. He has been involved in cheating scandals, paternity disputes, and child support lawsuits, demonstrating immaturity and a lack of growth in his on-again, off-again relationship with Khloé. The Kardashians' one-sided support enables these poor choices and suggests that they will continue to occur.
Kim willingly faced criticism as she publicly defended Thompson on the Hulu show, describing him as a good friend and father. She mentioned how he assisted her with her own children, attending their games, taking them out for dinner, and always supporting her, especially in conflicts with her ex. This perspective aligns with the Kardashians' narrative of Thompson's parenting abilities, but a closer examination of his relationships reveals the extent of the changes and improvements he needs to make in order to fit the image the Kardashians are trying to portray.

When Tristan Thompson started dating the founder of Good American in 2016, he was also getting ready to become a father for the first time to his son, Prince, with his ex, Jordan Craig. Thompson and Craig have a different perspective on the timeline of Tristan's relationship with Khloe and whether it overlapped with Craig's relationship. However, Jordan and her family believe that their 6-year-old son has been neglected by his father. This contradicts the image of Thompson as a "good father" that Kim and Khloe have defended.
Recent reports paint a different picture of Thompson's parenting abilities. According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Jordan Craig claims that since November 2022, Tristan has not consistently paid child support for their son Prince. Craig is seeking to have Thompson's wages garnished to cover the $224,000 he owes. Initially, after reaching a settlement, Thompson was presumably making $40,000 monthly in child support payments. However, Jordan's declaration in a Los Angeles court reveals that Thompson has been partially or entirely missing these payments. Despite the emotional strain of this child support battle, Jordan has chosen to address the issue through legal channels rather than publicly speaking out. However, her sister, Kai Cyre, has taken to social media to shed light on what her sister has been dealing with privately.
Jordan's Sister Slams Tristan and Kim

Earlier this month, Kai Cyre, who is Jordan's sister and Prince's aunt, voiced her concerns about Tristan's behavior and Kim's defense of him on her social media account. In a lengthy Instagram post, Cyre expressed her frustration, stating that it has been difficult for her to stay silent out of respect for her sister's privacy. She mentioned that despite Tristan's ability to do nice things for others, he fails to show up and be a real parent to Prince, which is painful to witness. This post was made in response to Kim's claims about Tristan being a great parent to her own children. However, Jordan's family reveals that Tristan neglects and is absent from Prince's life, despite living in the same city as his other children. This misinformation has caused additional distress to the family. Cyre also mentioned that Tristan only engages with his son publicly, such as during parties or planned photo opportunities.
Cyre didn't stop there. She also addressed the Kardashians, especially Kim, and how their defense of Tristan has had a negative impact on everyone involved. She questioned Kim's sensitivity towards the fact that Tristan ignores his children and urged her to prioritize her sisters before defending this man's character on a global platform. While acknowledging Tristan's assistance in transporting Kim's kids to school and activities, Cyre emphasized that he hasn't shown any interest in Prince's education. She praised her sister for working multiple jobs to maintain Prince's lifestyle, but emphasized that a good father should be present for all of his children, not just some.
Tristan's Parenting Troubles Are Far From Over

Khloé displayed forgiveness when she reconciled with her ex, Tristan, despite his public infidelity with multiple women. However, history repeated itself when Tristan engaged in another affair, this time with fitness model Maralee Nichols, while still in a relationship with Khloé. He spent time with Maralee during his 30th birthday celebration, and she later revealed that she was pregnant with his child, leading to a paternity scandal. Despite court documents confirming Tristan's involvement with Maralee, he continued to deny the relationship to protect his image with Khloé, his new fiancée.
Tristan's immediate denial of his potential child demonstrates his lack of responsibility as a parent. He exploited opportunities to hide his misconduct, even altering his paternity order for his son, Theo, through an amended petition in court. Although the Kardashians were aware of his behavior, they publicly defended him as a "good father," despite his minimal positive actions. Finally, in December 2021, Maralee filed a paternity lawsuit, and in January 2022, Tristan took to Instagram to acknowledge and confirm his paternity. He accepted responsibility, stating, "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions." The Kardashians must reflect on their defense of Tristan, recognizing that good character is not solely determined by admitting wrongdoing, and rewarding bad behavior simply because the truth is revealed under pressure is not appropriate.
