Tiffani Thiessen recently addressed comments made by her ex-boyfriend Brian Austin Green, who confessed to feeling envious of her intimate scenes with other actors on Beverly Hills, 90210.
In an exclusive interview with We, the 50-year-old actress reflected on her experience on the iconic show and also discussed her collaboration with Welly to launch the “Happy Campers Kit.” This kit is designed to assist parents and children in getting ready for the upcoming summer camp season.
She admitted feeling nervous when she joined the cast, unsure of what to expect. It was like being the new kid in a friend group that had been together for a long time.
She is best known for playing Kelly Kapowski on NBC's Saved by the Bell. In 1994, she joined the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 as Valerie Malone.
"I have gathered valuable experiences from various jobs and interactions with different people, which have left me with plenty of wonderful memories. Of course, there were also some challenging moments, but the good memories definitely outweigh the tough ones. Interestingly, when I first began my career, I was in a relationship with Brian [Austin Green]. This support system made my journey a bit smoother."

Tiffani Thiessen dated Brian Austin Green for three years from 1992 to 1995. However, dating a coworker isn't always easy. Green admitted on Shannen Doherty's podcast that he felt jealous when Thiessen had to film intimate scenes with other actors.
He admitted, "I had never been in a serious relationship before. I felt incredibly jealous whenever she had to work with someone else because we had been on the show together for four years. It felt like we were already a family."
He also shared, "I used to bring Tiffani to events so she could meet everyone, and then suddenly she was filming intimate scenes with people who were like my family and brothers. It was a strange feeling. I remember feeling really jealous and upset."
Thiessen responded to Green's comments by sharing that she had a mix of emotions during that period in her life. She mentioned feeling insecure because her boyfriend was not supportive of her being there. Additionally, she had her own insecurities about being in a well-established job where she felt left out of close relationships. It was a stressful and challenging time for her, but she handled it with pride.
Thiessen expressed that she values when people acknowledge her strong work ethic and professionalism. She emphasized that she continues to uphold these qualities today, and she hopes that others would agree. Despite the difficulties she faced, Thiessen admitted that it was not easy for her, but she persevered through it.
Thiessen shared, "We were all young and foolish, which is why I don't harbor any hard feelings." When asked about her relationship with Green, she mentioned, "We're both grown-ups. Our breakup was quite friendly. It was actually pretty simple. He moved on, I moved on, and we had to continue working together."
Thiessen has been happily married to Brady Smith since 2005, and together they have a son named Holt, 8, and a daughter named Harper, 13. As a mother, she relies on Welly for summer camp essentials and extra items that provide her with peace of mind while her kids are away at camp. "We've been using Welly bandages for years," Thiessen shared with Us. "It's my kids' favorite, as well as mine. We have kits placed all around the house, and I even take them with me when I travel."
Thiessen shared with Us that her two kids will both be going to sleepaway camp for the first time this year. Her daughter, who is older at 14, has been attending sleepaway camp for several years and is very experienced. Initially, Thiessen was more nervous than her daughter, but her son is quite different. He is more sensitive and has some anxiety, so he is approaching camp with a mix of excitement and nervousness. To support both of her children, Thiessen and her family put together a special happy campers kit to help them feel more at ease.
