Craig Conover and Austen Kroll are addressing the recent claims made by Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps about their past flirtatious encounters. The stars of Southern Charm tackled this speculation on their podcast "Pillows and Beer" during the episode that aired on Tuesday, July 11. Morgan and de Lesseps caused a stir when they discussed this topic during their appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
Conover, 35, fondly reflected on his first encounter with Morgan, 59, on Andy Cohen's late-night show, describing her as a funny and amazing friend. However, he admitted that he hadn't seen her in person since then, emphasizing that he has never had anything negative to say about her. When directly asked by Kroll, 36, if he had ever been physically intimate with Morgan, Conover was straightforward, stating that they had never kissed. He clarified that although Morgan is bold and lively, they have not shared a romantic moment in the five years since they last met.
Morgan caused a stir on Sunday, July 9, when she revealed on WWHL that she had a secret conversation with Conover, who is currently in a relationship with Paige DeSorbo. As the comment gained popularity on the internet, DeSorbo, 30, playfully expressed her reaction.
On Monday, July 10, she commented on a Bravo fan account, saying, "No, I'm peeing my pants."
Kroll, on the other hand, expressed to Conover that he didn't believe Morgan was insinuating that they kissed, but rather had a flirtatious encounter. He shared, "She mentioned that she sat in his lap and playfully touched his hair... We had a brief encounter," he explained. (Conover, however, was unsure of the meaning of "tête-à-tête.")
Morgan wasn't the only one fueling rumors — de Lesseps, aged 58, claimed on WWHL that she exchanged numbers with Kroll after spending time together at BravoCon. However, Kroll recalls the situation differently.
"I don't remember and I don't believe I shared my phone number with Luann," he stated on Tuesday. "I would have definitely remembered... It's possible that she might be mistaking me for someone else. I must say, I find Luann incredibly attractive."
Conover affirmed that both women, who are presently co-starring on Bravo's Welcome to Crappie Lake, are "full of energy and enjoyable" while Kroll jokingly expressed his interest in getting to know de Lesseps at some point. (He emphasized that they have never had a conversation before.)
Kroll suggested that engaging in a romantic encounter with an older woman would be an enjoyable experience, encouraging de Lesseps to send him a direct message through social media. Both de Lesseps and Morgan have experienced divorce. The countess was married to Alexandre de Lesseps from 1993 to 2009, and later to Tom D'Agostino Jr. from 2016 to 2017. Meanwhile, Morgan divorced John Adams Morgan in 2006 after almost a decade of marriage.
