Therazane the Stonemother: A Long-Awaited Addition to Hearthstone

Therazane the Stonemother: A Long-Awaited Addition to Hearthstone

After almost 10 years, Hearthstone is finally adding Therazane the Stonemother, an important character in the framework of World of Warcraft, and the only Elemental Lord who hasn’t been printed as a card yet. This article delves into the significance of this addition and the impact it will have on the game.

The Arrival of Therazane

After almost 10 years, Hearthstone is finally adding Therazane the Stonemother, an important character in the framework of World of Warcraft, and the only Elemental Lord who hasn’t been printed as a card yet. Therazane is coming as the headlining neutral Legendary card in the Delve into Deepholm Mini-Set for the Showdown in the Badlands Hearthstone expansion.

The Elemental Lords are the four most powerful elementals in World of Warcraft. As one of WoW's first raid bosses, Ragnaros the Firelord is the most recognizable, but Neptulon the Tidehunter, Al’akir the Windlord, and Therazane the Stonemother all played major roles in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and beyond. In Hearthstone, Ragnaros, Neptulon, and Al’akir each appear across multiple cards and heroes in both constructed and Battlegrounds, with Ragnaros and Al’akir both being in the game since launch. Therazane, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found.

Now, Hearthstone is finally bringing the Stonemother to Hearthstone in a big way. Therazane is one of the four new Legendary cards coming in Delve into Deepholm, the 38-card Mini-Set for Showdown in the Badlands. The Neutral Elemental is a 7/5 Taunt minion that costs 7 mana, and who doubles the stats of all Elemental minions in the Hearthstone player's hand and deck after she dies, leaving a huge impact even after she leaves the battlefield. Players can add the iconic Elemental Lord to complete their set by pulling her in packs, or by picking up the full Mini-Set directly from the shop.

Hearthstone Dive Into Deepholm Features

The Dive Into Deepholm expansion for Hearthstone, set to release on January 18, is bringing a host of new features that promise to shake up the game's meta. The expansion includes 38 new cards, with 4 Legendaries, 1 Epic, 17 Rares, and 16 Commons. One of the most anticipated additions is Therazane, the Stonemother, who is a Neutral Elemental with a unique ability to double the stats of all Elemental minions in the player's hand and deck after she dies.

In addition to the new cards, the Dive Into Deepholm expansion introduces five new cards for each Hearthstone class, with four of them being dual-class cards. There's also a new Excavate treasure at the Common, Rare, and Epic tiers, adding further depth and variety to the gameplay.

Players can acquire the full set for $15 or 2000 Gold, or opt for the Golden version that includes Diamond Deepminer Brann for $70 or 10,000 Gold. This expansion promises to breathe new life into the game and offer players exciting new strategies and synergies to explore.

Expanding Gameplay and Strategy

Delve into Deepholm is adding some other cards that promise to shake up the Hearthstone meta as well. Each class gets access to four new dual class cards divided between two different class combinations. These cards mix and match archetypes, strengthening what each class can do while giving them access to some unique synergies and mechanics they usually don't get, such as healing in Rogue.

While players will not be able to play in Hearthstone Duels for long, as the mode is being removed, they will have no trouble finding a place in Standard and Wild. The new cards from Delve into Deepholm will offer players exciting new ways to approach the game, with diverse strategies and interactions to explore.
