Legendary World of Warcraft Character to Finally Face Epic Boss Battle

World of Warcraft players will finally have the opportunity to battle a legendary character in a proper boss fight. This highly anticipated encounter will take place in the upcoming Dragonflight dungeon, as part of Patch 10.1.5 titled Fractures in Time. Blizzard has provided a sneak peek of the new content, which includes a slew of exciting features. However, the addition of the Dawn of the Infinites mega-dungeon has generated the most buzz among fans.

Grommash Hellscream, the legendary Orc war hero, is set to appear as the boss of the Time-Lost Battlefield encounter for Alliance players in the new mega-dungeon that features important figures from across Warcraft history. Fans will recognize the fel-corrupted green skin of this version of Grom, which differs from his uncorrupted appearance in Warlords of Draenor.

Grom is a major figure from Warcraft lore, known for being the first Orc to drink the blood of Mannoroth and inflict the curse upon his people. He is also responsible for slaying Mannoroth and lifting the curse years later. Grom was the father of Garrosh Hellscream, one of the most infamous characters in World of Warcraft. Interestingly, Grom was originally supposed to be the final boss of the Warlords of Draenor expansion before the developer shifted gears in fear of oversaturating the game with Orc bosses.

Some fans are thrilled that Grom Hellscream will finally have a proper boss fight in the upcoming mega-dungeon. Hellscream has been a fan favorite since his introduction and has even inspired players to emulate his style by playing Arms Warriors. Many are hoping that the encounter will drop a high-resolution version of Gorehowl, the legendary axe wielded by both Hellscreams, which was never made available after its appearance in Warlords of Draenor. The original iteration of this weapon was highly coveted when it dropped from Karazhan, making it a must-have for many transmog collectors.

Despite the excitement, a few players have pointed out that the new green-skinned Grom Hellscream model is missing some key details. Iconic depictions of the Orc feature him with glowing red eyes, a full black chin tattoo, and deep purple coloration on his pauldron and armor. These fans would love to see World of Warcraft tweak Grom's design before the mega-dungeon is released, but they are still excited to see the legendary character take the battlefield regardless.
