Joe Jonas took a break from his and Sophie Turner’s divorce drama by enjoying a day of leisure in Miami, Florida.
On Sunday, October 15, the 34-year-old Jonas Brothers singer was seen relaxing with his friends on a luxurious superyacht. Jonas opted for a stylish monochromatic ensemble, consisting of a white T-shirt, button-up shirt, and shorts. He completed his look with a tote bag, tan shoes, and a hat with the words "I got lucky at Rose Bowl". Alongside his time at sea, the recently single star cruised around in a classic black Ford Falcon. Jonas spent time in Florida after a series of successful Jonas Brothers tour performances in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami from October 12 to October 14.
According to an exclusive source, shortly after Jonas' Miami outing, he and Turner are reportedly close to reaching a custody agreement for their two daughters, Willa, aged 3, and Delphine, aged 14 months. The couple, who married in 2019, has been involved in a contentious legal dispute since Jonas filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones actress on September 5th. The insider revealed on Monday, October 16th, that they will test this arrangement before making a final decision on a permanent solution. However, for now, they can both relax and be grateful that they were able to come to a mutual agreement concerning their children.
Since their breakup, which Turner alleged happened abruptly following an argument, the former couple has been at odds over the preferred location for raising their children. In legal papers obtained by the New York Post last month, Turner advocated for England to be her daughters' permanent residence, noting that Jonas had previously expressed enthusiasm about living in the United Kingdom.Turner's legal documents claim that Jonas wrongfully detained the children in New York City against their previous temporary agreement to allow them to travel with him on the Jonas Brothers' ongoing tour. In response to the lawsuit, a representative for Jonas referred to it as "misleading" in a statement to Us on September 21, highlighting that both parties opted to proceed with their divorce proceedings in Florida.
Joe is advocating for shared parenting so that the children are raised by both their mother and father, and he is also accepting of the idea that the children can be raised in both the U.S. and the U.K. The children were born in the U.S. and have primarily lived there, being American citizens. Sophie's motive for claiming otherwise is simply to move the divorce proceedings to the U.K. and permanently remove the children from the U.S.
On October 10, Jonas and Turner agreed to a custody arrangement. According to this agreement, Jonas will have the girls for Thanksgiving, while Turner will have them for Christmas. Custody will then be swapped back to Jonas until January 7, 2024.
Backgrid/MEGAFollowing a productive and successful mediation process, it has been mutually agreed by the former couple that their children will divide their time equally between affectionate households in both the United States and the United Kingdom. In a statement shared with Us on the same day, the couple expressed their anticipation for excelling in their co-parenting responsibilities.
