Sophie Turner has filed a petition in New York City, asking Joe Jonas to bring their children back to their residence in England, as court documents obtained by CNN reveal that their divorce is becoming more complex.
The petition alleges that Turner's children were wrongfully kept in New York City instead of their usual home in England. In April 2023, England was established as their permanent residence. According to the petition, Turner intended to go back to England with the children this month. However, when she tried to retrieve their passports from Jonas last week, she asserts that he declined to hand them over.
Jonas initiated divorce proceedings from Turner on September 5, ending their four-year marriage. In her petition, Turner alleges that she learned about Jonas' decision to file for divorce from "the media."
However, a spokesperson for Jonas contradicted this claim, asserting that Turner had prior knowledge of his intent to file for divorce.
Joe is advocating for shared parenting to ensure that the children are raised by both their mother and father, regardless of whether they reside in the U.S. or the UK. The representative also mentioned that the children are American citizens, as they were born in the U.S. and have primarily lived there. Please stay tuned for further updates on this ongoing situation.
