The Leader Pass for Civilization 6, known as the Great Negotiator's Pack, marks the final expansion pass before Firaxis shifts its focus to Civilization 7. This latest update brings new alternate Personas for Nzinga Mbande and the Sultan Saladin as well as the highly anticipated introduction of Abraham Lincoln to the game.
Lincoln is renowned for his leadership during the American Civil War and his role in abolishing slavery in the United States. In Civilization 6, his unique ability, Emancipation Proclamation, highlights his emphasis on industrial growth and military strength by providing players with free units in Industrial Zones.
Abraham Lincoln's Features & Abilities
As the Leader of the United States, Abraham Lincoln shares the same Civilization Ability, Unique Unit, and Unique District as Teddy Roosevelt and his alternate Persona. However, what sets Lincoln apart is his Leader Ability, Emancipation Proclamation, which offers a different perspective on America's emphasis on late-game Domination.

How to Play as Abraham Lincoln
To fully utilize Emancipation Proclamation, players must strategically expand their cities in the early game to generate more Industrial Zones and free Melee units. However, this may require settling near Plantation resources, which can result in a -2 Loyalty penalty. Nevertheless, this penalty is easily manageable and can be canceled out by the Industrial Zone bonus. Additionally, players must ensure that their Melee units are always up-to-date with the latest Technology level to maximize their combat effectiveness. With the availability of Industrial Zones and the Workshop building in the early/mid-game, players can generate two Melee units for each City, providing a strong foundation for a successful Civilization 6 Domination Victory.
Players also have the option to focus on expanding their personal territory by conquering City States and Cities from other Civilizations using the surplus of free units. This strategy can lead to a strong economic foundation necessary for achieving a Science, Culture, or Diplomatic Victory, which are all achievable under Abraham Lincoln's rule. Civilization 6 is easily accessible on various platforms including iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
