A menacing new Inquisitor threatens to disrupt Ahsoka's journey in the upcoming Disney Plus Star Wars series Who is this mysterious villain and what deadly plans do they have in store?

The highly anticipated Star Wars series, Ahsoka, set to air on Disney Plus, may bring forth a fresh and formidable Sith Inquisitor for the titular Togruta Jedi to confront. While the revelation may not come as a shock to fans of the franchise, given the history of popular characters making comebacks, the latest update offers a glimpse of the enigmatic villain, who seems to embody the role perfectly. Ahsoka promises to take viewers on a journey through the life of Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson) after the events of Return of the Jedi, a time when she had already won over fans as a beloved character in The Clone Wars, voiced by Ashley Eckstein. As the series delves into new territory, it also marks the highly anticipated live-action debut of Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen. With several new faces already introduced in sneak peeks and previews, Ahsoka promises to offer a fresh and exciting take on the Star Wars universe, with this new Inquisitor, whose face remains a mystery, adding to the intrigue.

A new image has been released by Empire for the upcoming series, which appears to feature an unidentifiable Sith Inquisitor debuting in Ahsoka. Although their face is concealed, their Inquisitor status is evident, as they are holding the trademark spinny double-bladed lightsaber that every other member of the order has been seen wielding. The armor they are wearing is also noteworthy, with its slotted helmet and massive shoulder pauldrons bearing a resemblance to that of a medieval knight. This individual is undoubtedly going to be a formidable opponent.

In Star Wars canon, the Inquisitors are a formidable force. These individuals possess the Force, although their abilities may differ. Many of them were once Jedi who were captured by Emperor Palpatine and subjected to torture until they became twisted versions of themselves. Others willingly joined the Inquisitors due to their grievances with the Jedi, which the manipulative Emperor preyed upon. Generally, their primary objective is to hunt down and kill Jedi who survived the purge at the conclusion of the Clone Wars. However, they also occasionally seek to recruit any surviving Jedi who they deem suitable for their ranks.

Although some Inquisitors have already been defeated by the time of Ahsoka, others remain. While there is no information about this particular Inquisitor, it is reasonable to assume that one will be hunting Ahsoka since she survived the Order 66 purge. It remains to be seen how significant of a role they will play. Additionally, the show will introduce two new characters with mysterious lightsabers - Baylan Skoll (played by Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (played by Ivanna Sakhno) - who will likely serve as villains. Ahsoka is also on a mission to locate Thrawn and the lost Jedi Ezra Bridger.

With so much happening in Ahsoka, it may appear overwhelming to some. However, it's important to remember that the show's creator, Dave Filoni, has a track record of exceptional storytelling. Additionally, he has hinted at a link between Ahsoka and Star Wars Rebels, which suggests that new and familiar characters may make an appearance. As the premiere date approaches, fans should maintain their excitement levels. Ahsoka is scheduled to release on Disney Plus in August 2023.
